I’m with Addy on this one. Realism is important.

When I was a kid the cashier would leave the carrot greens on or take them off, whatever you wanted. Back when they also gave Blue Chip Stamps.

@simpsonfan2
We had S&H green stamps

Still had a handful of places that gave out S&H green stamps in the late 1990s. Don’t know of any now.

If they’re selling ’em by weight, then I take the greens off the veges.
Plods with Beer ( did I mention beer? )

The BIG purple box sticking out of the top of the bag would be hilarious.

This is like a McD’s commercial burger with the meat, lettuce & tomato all sticking out around the bun. GET REAL.

Saw a guy the other day with four giant boxes of cat litter in his cart – 140 pounds worth.

In fact, WAY too real.
(Does anyone still use those things? Haven’t seen one in decades.)

I also remember Triple-S Blue Stamps. They didn’t last very long.

I would like to see a fast food commercial showing what their sandwhiches really look like.

Strange. Last week, my groceries included French baguettes and carrots with the greens on. I think it says something not particularly favorable if you can’t conceive of that being real. Probably speaks to a pathetic food life of eating out of cans and little frozen boxes.
(Not that I haven’t bought plenty of feminine products. And without being embarrassed. If some fool thought I, a man, was using them, I’m happy to let them thing so.)

Reminded of an Isaac Asimov Union Club Mystery in which the hero investigated whether an apartment bleonged to a 20- or 30-something female spy. The absence of feminine hygiene products tipped him that it was fake.

….or to be stuck on a deserted island that has more than one palm tree and is bigger than your living room
