I hate seeing pumpkins go to waste (especially if some vandal’s thrown them in the street). At our house, they’re all cooked, pureed and frozen on Nov. 1. Then we get to have pumpkin pie, custard, bread, cookies, cake, etc. all year long. Mmmmm

Some years, I get ambitious and make pumpkin butter - makes nice treats to give as gifts at Christmas. Other years, I set the pumpkin in the garden and let it decompose and fertilize the garden.
This year, vandals stole my pumpkin :-(
