In Dallas/Fort Worth, a half inch of ice is enough to close the schools.

Some Atlanta schools close when there is just a chance of ice or snow in the forecast. It doesn’t have to actually happen.

Back when in my in my ex-home of Savannah GA., it rarely snows. But when it does, everything comes to a standstill, even if one flake touches the ground!

In western NY it needs to be a near blizzard to get schools closed, and the county has to close the roads or you better show up at work!

“You should be thrilled you even GET to go to school, young lady !”
“Lots of children would be DELIGHTED to have the opportunity”
“Why, when I was your age, we had to wade throgh 20 feet of snow to get to school and it was uphill both ways !!”

Seattle got a sprinkling of snow last night. We are quite sick of the stuff from last month thank you. BTW Heart, snow days shorten summer vacation!

Tabbylynn: There’s a new thing that you might be interested in, it’s called punctuation! Also, capitalization is being used now too. Just a thought, might want to try using it sometime! :)

I live on the Pacific Coast. It is hilly here. When it snows it’s very difficult to drive. The school buses won’t go out.

Live in PA now, we look forward to snow hoping for a day off school ( my kids and me a day off work) if there are no cancellations, big whoop for the snow. Just something to shovel. Lived in North Carolina, too, and we had a couple snows, nothing really to amount to much, but everything came to a standstill, except me, boy I was out in it cause I was used to it!
