    As you inferred yesterday “Mr. past tense”, Yup, I do like it today. Yet, my small amount of plant knowledge can also be shared. Thistle is a prickly plant and the Scottish variety has a thorny nature, all to be avoided when they are rollin’ along. But, the lavender plant is kinder when dry ’cause there would be no stick-up in grimy gulch.

    @crookedwolf

    I had no idea how to spell “yes” in Russian!
    I was just as surprised when i discoverd it was a transplant.

    @Jonny B

    I have run into one of these tumble weeds on a site visit and when i grabbed it did have a type of thorn on it. I am having fun writing about the plants. The plant material in AZ is very interesting having to deal with less than 7" of rain and still surviving. Thanks for sharing about the Scottish Thistle..and Lavender… I especially liked the “no stick-up in grimy gulch” Nice Jon!

    Just more proof that the Russians are attempting to take over our desert wastelands.

    It’s a weed and deserves killing. I’ve got the dang things in my backyard. I’m going to get really tough on them this year. They are the biggest nuisance around here.

    OK, the character in the last panel reminds me of another character of similar stature and positioning on the head of his sway-backed horse. But I can’t think of who, what or where I had seen it. :)

    OK. Did a little research. Yes, I used to read the comic strip, Tumbleweeds all the time. And of course his name is “Tumbleweeds.” I’m glad Grimy Gulch was mentioned or I would never had figured it out. I couldn’t read the last name of whom the apologies were sent.
