My neighbor is starting to get these installed. I don’t mind as long has her wifi is still floating around the air so I can surf the ’net

The funny part about solar is that you think if the power should go out you would be able to use them to run your fridge or ac unit but the power company technically owns those panels and when the power goes out you can’t use them. Basically those solar panels are there to generate electricity for the power company and they give you a break on you bill but it still costs you a lot of money.

If you set up your alternate power source on a break off circuit that only runs certain appliances then it will work. Any independant electrician can set that up, or there are directions to set it up online. It can work just like an emergency generator.
