30…Sally is selfish and devious so neither her friends nor her brother will see a single piece of that candy.

Sally plus 4 friends equals 5 people.
30 pieces divided 5 ways equals 6 per person.
Then Sally’s mean older sister takes all 30 pieces from them.
(the mean older sister is older than the mean brother.)
Actually, there is no candy because Sally’s parents are unemployed.

Since it doesn’t say divided equally there isn’t just one correct answer. My correct answer is 2 per friend and 22 for Sally.

I would say it depends on who’s greedy and selfish and who’snot …

using the cartoon method it would be 14 for Sally and 4 each for her friends.
Cartoon Method= 1 for you and 1 for me, 2 for you and 1,2 for me, and 3 for you and 1,2,3 for me etc. works for me.

…. and that is how it works in the workplace. Unless you buy a box of donuts or whatever for the entire office…… your candy. Share if you want. And if you want…. then one to each, the rest to you.
