Nowadays, it’s not so hard to find parking spots at the mall, except maybe around Christmas. Was the spelling “maul” intended, and if so, I don’t get it.

Because you are mauled by the crowds around Christmas. I agree that this cartoon was ill-timed and should have appeared on December 14, not July 14.

Have you ever been to a mall or discount store at Christmas trying to find the ONE toy the kid HAS to have? The one that everybody else’s kid HAS to have? It’s no longer a mall . . . it’s a MAUL!

I grew up where my parents weren’t likely to be able to afford the toy that “every kid has to have”. I think it was good for me.
