Oh, I just noticed the skeleton couple in the car where the sign says “wait here”…indicative of the problems of online sign-ups… ;)

It was nice of Truist to take time from bowing before his shrine to his Obamessiah! We’ve all seen what a great success the Obamessiah has been! Every year he’s been in office, America has improved soooo much!

Yes, thanks to the insurance lobby, not everyone has insurance. And thanks to shills like Glenn, the fat cats are being praised for their devotion to ripping us all off.

If the Affordable Care Act is working so badly, then the Republicans who designed it back in 1993 should have done a better job.
The individual mandate was even their idea.

First it was “repeal and replace”. Then it was “repeal, repeal, repeal!”. And now you complain that the ACA doesn’t cover enough people? It would cover 7.1 million less if you’d had your way, you hypocrite!

There were 47 million uninsured Americans before the PPACA. Saying 17 million are now insured leaves 30 million still without insurance of any kind. So that 30 million looks legitimate.

The kind of people who predict elections more-or-less accurately (NOT the people who correctly predicted that Romney would win were it not for biased polls like the one on 6 Nov ‘12) are predicting at least the usual mid-term gains for the party not in the White House. Best guess: the Republicans will keep their majority in the House and the Senate will be very close to a draw, which means that nothing can happen since, even if the Republicans take the Senate, they won’t have a veto-proof majority.

As Armitage pointed out, most of the ACA, including the individual mandate so maligned by Republicans, was originally proposed by the Republicans. The conservative Heritage Foundation developed the idea, which was endorsed by Newt Gingrich as a counter to the so called Hillarycare. Romney used it as a basis for his health insurance reform package while he was governor of MA.

During the Republican presidential debates, Gingrich tried to criticize Romney for his insurance reform program because Obama used it as a template for the ACA. Romney hit back, reminding Gingrich of his previous support. Gingrich was forced to back down.

“It would cover 7.1 million less if you’d had your way, you hypocrite!”
    .
As it is, it hasn’t even helped the 30 million it was SUPPOSED to be for in the first place. Most of those “7.1 million” hasn’t even paid on their policies, they were just webhits, the remainder were ones that were cancelled because Obamacare made their existing policies (the ones they were told they could keep if they liked it) illegal.
