While the Republican House sees nothing about jobs, hears nothing about jobs and DOES NOTHING ABOUT JOBS!

The question that remains unanswered is whether the ACA will, in fact, do any of that. According to every Obamabot, ‘Yes.!’ But no hard data. According to all the Tea types, ‘No!’ But no hard data.

The Economist has a decent article about the expected job losses from the ACA. No losses before 2017, and a peak of about 1.5% by 2021. Such long-range projections are so unreliable as to be easily ignored, but not denied. They include those who cheerfully choose to quit working when they’d only been working to keep employer health insurance. They also include people on Medicaid or on ACA subsidies whose marginal tax rate will be 100% or more and discourage them from working.

The Economist says the adverse effects on employment will be significant, which every Obamabot denies, but neither will those effects be anything at all like what the Tea types claim.

The estimated reduction stems almost entirely from a net decline in the amount of labor that workers choose to supply, rather than from a net drop in businesses’ demand for labor, so it will appear almost entirely as a reduction in labor force participation and in hours worked relative to what would have occurred otherwise rather than as an increase in unemployment (that is, more workers seeking but not finding jobs) or underemployment (such as part-time workers who would prefer to work more hours per week). — Congressional Budget Office

I assume those two million people are doing real work. It would be reasonable to assume those employers will now hire two million replacements to fill the gap. I would also guess that many who quit did so to do other things like take care of small children, start businesses, or take jobs they really have a passion for.

Auric Goldfinger was not the villain with the white cat and the scar on his face. That was from a different Bond movie.

If that was for me I did not say he was I pointed out the mistake. And what does the aura supposedly surrounding a living creature have to do with anything here.

um and how is Obamacare doing that? I thought this was about paying for not the care it self? yet it is bankrupting some so they will no longer be able to get care. The tin plated plans of Obamacare are very restrictive and expensive. That is unless you do not have a job and the tax payer picks up most of the tab, but that will not help the work force?

You assume to much. employers will cut and cut as deep as they can. And really? Who should worry about their own healhcare? And should I the tax payer pay for it while you are looking for that job you have a passion for?

Ask Harry Reid to dig through the pile of bills the House has sent over to the Senate & good Old Harry threw them in a pile in the corner! Now who is the “party of no”?

Oh, he reached out to the Republicans alright! “Elections have consequences”, as he turned his back on the Republicans in the room and proceeded to ignore them. And also “We won, Republicans to the back of the bus”. Wow, what a reach!

Agreed. “Obamacare” isn’t enough of an insult anymore; let’s start calling it “BarryCare."
Obamacare was not such a insult when the liberals thought it might work, when they could not see it was to fail to bring about Obama’s single governmental controlled FAILURE. Obama told Mitt it was alright to call it Obamacare, but now that it is a complete FAILURE the Obama apologist are calling it ACA, but that monster has been let out of the dungeon, Obama or even Berry care is now an insult meaning FAILURE!

It isn’t the government’s duty to create jobs. That is what employers are supposed to do. The biggest job killer right now is the Obama administration letting the “Alphabet Soup” of agencies create all sorts of new regulations.
    .
Obama himself has no clue, zero, zip, nada knowledge of how to create jobs. That he, and many Democrats, think that government creates jobs and wealth through social spending or that “infrastructure” projects will do the same long term shows you just what kind of fools are in charge right now.

More conservative nonsense. Look at other countries with national health care — which is all developed countries. The citizens of all other developed countries pay about 7%-8% of their income toward health care, about half of what Americans pay, and everyone is covered for everything. Obamacare is a step down this road. It’s not “Communism!” or the end of liberty. Ten years from now, the focus will solely be on improving it, and the best step is, again, SINGLE PAYER. If you don’t like it, move to a country without government-controlled health care (hint: there aren’t any) or win an election (hint: you won’t. Hillary will beat The Fat Guy in 2016.)
