    “No warming in 17 years”? So come on, Deniers, tell me where that comes from.

    @wbr

    You provide “analysis” from the consistently debunked Monckton? Aw, seriously?

    And here he is again: Sceptical Science debunks yet another bunch of Monckton nonsense regarding Arctic/Antarctic ice

    Again, McCoy would rather simply lie than debate.

    There is, and always has been & will always be, Climate Change. There has never been Global Warming. Please do not lump all scientists in with this motley crew. There are a significant number of us scientists who do not agree.

    Surely, even this moron understands that climate is defined by averages?

    Sheesh. By his reckoning, a cool day in August disproves the existence of summer.

    claimed: “There are a significant number of us scientists who do not agree.”

    Aren’t you the one always praying “God help us” and plastering it all over the place over and over again? And you’re a “scientist”? What sort of “scientist”? One that teaches creationism perhaps?

    Btw, I’m an astronaut . :-|

    Where did you get this erroneous information? Average global temperature was higher last year than ever in recorded history. Climate change is causing erratic swerves in the Jetstream, leading to cold spells like we are in now.

    The worst thing to ever happen to the environmental issue is its politicization. Rational discussion of it is no longer possible as the Kool Aid Babies on both sides start spouting their experts.

    For myself, I just consider that regardless of the Global Warming issue, there are a number of good reasons to look into alternate energy sources and cleaner living. Reduction of pollution. Lessening our dependence on unstable portions of the world such as the Middle East. Increasing our self sufficiency. Encouraging technological and scientific development. I’m sure there are others.

    If you don’t think Global Warming is real, at least please consider the other benefits of going greener.

    If you are one of those self-righteous, bleeding heart, ‘any cause that makes me morally superior than everyone else’ types who just like waving the environmental banner because your self esteem is so low you have no other way to feel good about yourself…please stop it. You’re not doing Mother Nature any favors.

    Then Romans 1:20 doubly applies to you.

    For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

    @warjoski

    I like your point of view warjoski. I agree that green initiatives ie active stewardship of the earth and its resources is the smart and responsible thing to do – and by the way, the Bible commands us to do so.

    My fear is that global warming is really just another way to shift more and more resources and control to the government. More taxes, more regulation, more policy, more laws, more government controlled jobs for people to manage all that mess.

    The smart way to do it is to properly incentivizes business and entrenpreuers to come up with practical, realistic and implementable green initiatives – not to ram rod “feel good” legislation that impedes flexible innovation.

    The government at times can be very good at casting a vision – it is rarely, if ever, the right organization to design, manage or dicatate how to do it.

    Set targets and reward handsomely those that help us get there; very simple, straightforward and ultimately much less expensive and obtrusive into our wallets and personal liberties – has everyone stocked up on their incandesant light bulbs? The liberals want pro-choice on whether they can commit premeditated murder on an innocent new life- but they won’t let me have pro choice to chose what type of light bulb or washing detergent I want to use…go figure.

    Mother Nature says so. Mother nature is more reliable
    .
    Ah yes. The Mother Nature deity who happens to look like a human female and floats around on clouds. Remember the old commercial for Parkay (?) where the Mother Nature figure, being told it’s not real butter, unleashes a few storms along with the admonition “It’s not nice to fool with Mother Nature”?
    .
    Well, guess what? Humankind has been messing with “Mother Nature” and climate conditions are changing in an accelerating fashion.
    .
    And that 17-year crap was thoroughly debunked – unless you tend to soak up everything a crackpot web site tells you.
