The Republican obsession with Obamacare suggests that they believe that the ACA is going to work out in the long run. If they genuinely, confidently felt that it was going to fail, the smart thing to do would to put up a nominal, token effort against it, but let it fail on its own merits, letting them surf into power on its broken body. The only good reason for them to put themselves on the chopping block like they have been is if they expect their arguments against it to be proven wrong, at least in the eyes of the majority of swing voters.

… which is why they made such an effort to re-direct Nancy Pelosi’s statement that, once people saw it in action, they would appreciate the way it worked. The problems with the sign-up are a godsend, allowing them to blame the cook because the waiter dropped the tray.

If you voted for a Congressman and a Senator then you were represented. If you were stupid enough NOT to vote, then it’s your own fault.
And the Supreme Court of the United States of America, with the deciding vote submitted by a conservative Bush nominee stated that the PPACA is Constitutional.

    Get over it.
Quit using my tax money for your Emergency Room visits whenever you get a tummyache.

SCOTUS did not rule the ACA constitutional. The ruling states it is a tax. At the time of the ruling no one had yet paid anything so the Court could not adjudicate. This bill cannot be a tax for as Joadtom stated it originated in the Senate. Taxes must originate in the House. The Democrats really messed this thing up. A shame. The Republicans are simply being the opposition, that’s their job. The blind faith in this bill of some of these posters is fascinating. There is no real evidence that this is anything other than a mess, fraudulently forced into law by the Democrats who then continued to lie to the public throughout a campaign season. The Democrat party has simply been dishonest in its dealings on Obamacare with the American people.

There are no official “Tea Party” members serving in Washington, there are “R’s and D’s”.
The Tea Party can say what ever they want, they hold no power. What the Democrats have done through little more than absolute deceit speaks volumes about the true nature of the party and the character of its leaders starting with this President.

“the smart thing [for Republicans] to do would to put up a nominal, token effort against [ACA], but let it fail on its own merits”

Absolutely. And then simultaneously portray themselves as a party of quiet competence with plausible, responsible alternatives for the American people.

But instead, Republican party has become a clown car mish-mash of political nihilism, neo-Confederate rhetoric; medieval fundamentalism . . .

This law needs to be repealed. There are plenty of better ways to do this. The longer this law remains in play, the more taxes that are increased and created to keep it afloat; thus killing middle America and the economy.

Doc, it is only an 800# gorilla to the deaf and blind. This was debated ad nauseum by myself and others before the bill was voted into law (and after) and you were part of the debates. You and the democrats ignored other ideas then and you pretend they were never presented now.

Tort reform, Portability, HSAs, Purchase across state lines, pools for pre existing conditions, etc. They may not be perfect, but would have been a better starting point than blowing up the current system to get to single payer as quickly as possible.

But then you ignore your taxes and love & rave about your Ocanadacare so why are you even asking? This process was purely political and had nothing to do with care of US Citizens.

Are you going to argue with the other points of my original statement?
