Yep that’s about the extent of the government shutdown.
If 400,000 of the 800,000 furloughed employees went back to work at DOD.That leaves about 9% of feds still on furlough. The numbers I found to come up with that 9% don’t include the federal employees at CIA,NSA or DIA.So its really less then 9%.
Don’t ask for a link .Do your own homework.

Hey, the White house sits on public land, it is already shut down to the public, how about we kick out the residence like they are doing everywhere else. That will show them.
But then again, Obama can shut down the Amber Alert and he would not dare touch Michaels Get fit web site.

In the news today, the government no longer pays death benefits to the families of servicemen killed in the line of duty. The Congress voted for, and Obama signed, a bill to fund the defence department, but the Pentagon says that funding does not apply when a serviceman has been killed in action.

^If each vet about to be totally screwed over because of Boehner and the TEA party contingent in the house did “grab that gun”, there would have to be a pretty long wall to stand that crew against.

Just a note: the HOUSE writes a budget, then sends it to the Senate, and the two resolve “differences”. The President only suggests a “budget proposal”, and can’t write that budget, only sign what the two houses of Congress submit, or veto, and send it back to them.

PPACA is a law of the land. Any change in that law should be as an amendment to that law (and yes, some changes are needed, like “single payer” ) Boehner trying to hold the economy hostage with a “budget bill”, to attempt to destroy another law, is despicable, but, well, typical for that crew.

Are you talking about changes like Obama’s missed deadlines, exemptions and provisions? The decision of funding or not funding any part of the government is the exclusive purview of the House. If the Executive Branch can decide to suspend enforcement of a law (like delaying the implementation of the Employer Mandate in the ACA) then the House of Representatives can decide to limit the amount of funds that the implementation of that same law gets.

Funny how it did, and Obama’s goons in DOD cut them off anyway, juts to hurt people any way they can.

The Amber Alerts are locally administered and have not been affected by the shutdown. There is no “amber alert site,” but the DOJ site where you can get stats about amber alerts, was temporarily down. So many wingbats panicked that they put it back up just to reassure them, which is, by the way, pretty foolish use of government funds. But stupid people deserve government services, too.
    .
Meanwhile, nothing has changed: If you live in Arizona and want to make sure there are no missing endangered kids in New Jersey, you need to either go to a local NJ site or go to the website for National Center for Missing and Exploited Kids, a nonprofit that is up and running.
    .
I say all this because (A) duplication of effort is the kind of government inefficiency budget-watchers should want to eliminate and (B) McCoy is a doofus who repeats stupid partisan talking points without bothering to check them out.
