    That your boy Obama uses IRS thugs as a partisan weapon surprises no one.

    Presidents have been misusing and getting away with misusing the IRS for generations. Nothing ever comes of it except outrage and indignity. Nobody is ever prosecuted for abuse of their position. It makes headlines for a while and then just fades into the backround noise of more immediate issues becoming a non-concern.

    I said almost exactly the same thing, Mike.
    Great comment. The IRS and AP stories show big gov’t as threat, but both parties have been threatening in the past so it would be wrong to just point at one ‘side’. The question is, how will this even be handled, and how will such things be prevented in the future?
    Keep up the good writing, M5. You are appreciated.

    And yes folks this can and will be your next healthcare experience thanks to obamacare. 17 new taxes! Or are the new penalties? But the IRS will be taking care of you.

    @Ms. Ima

    Actually given your political bent you are getting the representation deserved for the taxes you want to pay. Think about it, I’m sure you can “get it.”

    If you had have a brain or any level of integrity, if you did any credible research at all, you would not be advocating for that highly regressive travesty the (UN)Fair Tax.

    Just another reason why you are a maker of totally irrelevant comments here. Few people do I not read comments from, but yours always feel like a waste of time and energy.

    I find it interesting that the neanderthals complaining so vociferously about the IRS identifying a segment of society that has a high likelihood of violating their tax exempt status (prohibition on political action and partisan advocating,) are the very same who jumped to the conclusion that the Boston Marathon bombing must have been done by a Muslim, and the very same who think that it is okay to target Muslims for “security” checks. Seems it’s okay when they are doing it but not when they or their friends are the targets. Hypocrites the whole lot.

    @TheTrustedMechanic The Boston Marathon bombing WAS done by a Muslim (or did you miss that fact?)

    i’m just curious – what was the outcome of this targeting exercise? any increase in revenue?

    It’s not jumping to a conclusion when they turn out to be muslim terrorists. You must not have gotten the memo, because the news sources you read likely don’t want to tell that narrative, since Obama has declared that the War on Terror is won. scoff

    Let me give you some statistical facts about terrorism.
    - The vast majority of terrorist attacks are carried about by those who adhere to radical Islam (aka Muslims)
    - The vast majority of terrorist attacks are committed by young males, ages 17-25 (ish).

    When you have those two statistical facts, and we are trying to combat terror, who do you think we should be looking at? 90 year-old black grandmothers? How about 10-year-old hispanic girls? Maybe we should frisk the 35 year old combat vet in a wheel chair.

    You know how the British caught the airplane bomber before he got on the plane? By profiling. Funny thing about that “discriminatory” practice: It works. I’m sorry, but when you’re looking for a duck, you don’t go searching for it in a herd of gazelles.
