    So innocent until proven guilty and due process are no longer American values? Anyone who agrees with the sentiment expressed in this cartoon and believes that such things should be gotten rid of because they might be inconvenient should realize something. Fighting the despots and terrorists of the world would be pointless, because their victory will be complete.

    Shame on Glen McCoy and anyone who would agree with him.

    It’s not so funny because it’s true.

    Lighten up, Francis. This is just a funny cartoon about the complicated realities of dealing with domestic terrorism in our legal system. You have no clue what the sentiments are expressed in this cartoon (or probably any other cartoon for that matter). Untwist your panties and grow a sense of humor.

    McCoy is right! We really need to get rid of the Constitution, or at least the Bill of Rights. Other countries get along just fine without these things. The 200 year experiment is over and we need to move on.

    So American citizens shouldn’t be allowed to have lawyers when accused of a crime? Why this rush to make American justice the laughing stock of the world? Wasn’t Guantamao bad enough? There’s a lot of the constitution besides the second amendment, McCoy. Accused citizens can’t get lawyers in Iran either, but I don’t consider that to be an advantage.

    Remember, the Second Amendment is sacred. To hell with the FIfth and Sixth.

    I like how the terrorist in both panels has the same turban. I don’t think the White Russians in the news ever wore one, so Glenn is evidently trying to make a broad point rather than commenting on Boston. I guess the fashion accessory for racism doesn’t change no matter what the season.

    American citizen commits crime in on American soil. There’s nothing constitutionally vague about this unless you’re part of a lynch mob.

    I hope you are being fasicious here. If not, there are always other countries that get along just fine without these things (Constitution and Bill of Rights) and would probably accept you.

    I thought that the terrorists were at war against us. That means that they are prisoners of war. That is a different thing than a criminal. They are not entitled to due process. They are not entitled to lawyers.

    “Boston Marathon Bombing is Staged Terror Attack”

    Alex Jones as a source of credible information? I’m incredulous. The only way Alex Jones would get it right would be if the laws of probability crashed into one of his conspiracy theories.

    German POW’s in WWII were not captured in the US (in fact the greater majority of them were captured in Germany itself), and they certainly were not US citizens. Those are the facts, why ignore them?

    Tsarnaev is a U.S. Citizen, who committed a crime. He wasn’t a member of another nation’s army waging war. Even traitors get a trial here.

    Those who would trade liberty for security, deserve neither.

    @Tax Man

    Where is the declaration of war? Pretending the fight against terrorism is equivalent to a war gives terrorists the legitimacy they crave. Terrorist groups are organized criminals. Unlike the mafia, their goals are political, not financial, but they are mere criminals, too.
