First of all, this is a lie. There was coverage, but it didn’t catch on with social media. I blame the conservatives for not ramping it up, if it serves their purposes.
    .
Second, it doesn’t. Gosnell’s work was illegal, and a good example of the back-alley butchery that happens when the Christian Taliban makes safe, affordable abortion unavailable.

Well, I Googled Dr, Gosnell as over here he isn’t news. He wasn’t a back-street abortionist either. He is not an example of what happens when abortion is unavailable. He is an example of abusing a legalised system that doesn’t care about women or babies. You amaze me. You have completely inverted reality.

I don’t believe anyone was saying that Gosnell was a “back-alley” abortionist, just an example of what was common before, and will be common after, the Christo-faciasts ban safe, legal abortionists.

If you don’t believe in abortion, don’t have one. If you don’t believe in same-sex marriage, marry someone of the opposite sex. See how simple it is?

Liberal satan worshippers, funny. Actually, I’m an atheist, so satan is as much a myth to me as the other guy.

How you get from a greedy unlicensed doctor using minimally trained, minimally paid teenagers as assistants which resulted in criminally negligent deaths to “Christofaciasts (sic)”, " Christian Taliban", and " liberal satan worshippers" is puzzling. The philosophies surrounding abortion/anti-abortion are not related to this man’s actions.

Back alley abortions were far more common than you might think. No one talked about them, then, especially because so many of the women died.

For anyone (including Glenn McCoy) who’s so incorrigibly stupid that they’re having trouble finding coverage in the liberal MSM? Here, let me help you:

This from the guy whose foreign policy is “nuke ’em”. But hey, the people you hate aren’t actually human, so it doesn’t count, right?

Good point. If this isn’t in the news, why do I know about it? If it had slow traction, that’s probably because it is a local news story that had to be found by investigative reporting within the bigger networks. Now the big story is that nobody is covering the story? I’m sorry, but this is everywhere, I can’t help it if the channel you watch is saying they are the only ones covering it. Apparently, a woman dying during childbirth is not news, nor is anyone dying on a surgeon’s table or a hospital, or an invalid dying due to neglect at a hospital. But if it involves an abortion, then you’ve got half the country you can get outraged about it.
If this guy is convicted of committing crimes, good. punish him. Make an example of him. Bring attention to the illegal parts of his practice so they can be identified and prevented in the future. But if you want this to be completely politicized, then don’t complain about the next mass shooting being politicized.

As everyone can see, the cartoon is depicting the story being covered by the mainstream media. I think the point is of an entirely different idea.

Coverage of Michael Vick’s abuse of dogs led the news for weeks but the networks turn a collective blind eye to one of the worst serial killers in U.S. history because they don’t want to portray an abortionist for what he really is.

    Chill sorry your wrong:
The NYT report on March 19 is the only one they did till this week.
The ABC post was released this week on April 15.
    Think Progress also April 15th.
CBS news seems to be ok but lets remember this trial started March 18 with testimony of flushing body parts down the toilet from the clinics janitor should be a lot more.
NBC news all start from last Monday.
DailyKos on the 12th and that is more of a hard left wing community blog, I don’t call that reporting.
    LA times April 16th.

The fact is this story shows what abortion is all about bad Doctors finding away to skate. We need to ask ourselves are we savages. How we react to this can decides if we are or not.

“…the Christian Taliban makes safe, affordable abortion unavailable.”
    .
First “Christian Taliban” is an oxymoron, you are suppose to be free to chose God, unlike the left anti Christians that want no mention of God and Christianity; just like the Taliban.
    .
Second abortion will never be illegal. If Ronald Reagan couldn’t do it (and he is basically the patron saint of the RNC, though I’m not sure he made any attempts) then no one will be able to. It’s just a lie told by the left to stir the fears of the Kool-Aid swiggers and the ignorant.

Nothing to do with this toon, but most of it very, very wrong.
    .
“The issue of same sex marriage is one where gays/lesbians are requiring society to approve of their relationship not just tolerate it.
    .
…its not about equal rights its about being in your face."
    .
A very close friend of mine had a gay marriage, and yet in many states she does not have the legal right to make medical decisions for her partner, should she be unable. Not to mention any death benefits should family decide to be greedy.
    .
Some homosexuals are just jerks, just like straight people. Go figure.
    .
    back to topic.

  15. I Play One On TV

I Play One On TV said, about 3 years ago

“So your point is that it makes no difference whether or not abortion is banned… this will happen either way?”

This is exactly the point. There will always be a demand, whether we want to admit it, or whether we hope against it.

If abortion becomes illegal, it’s back to the days of “I know a guy who is pre-med. He can do this.” Then out come the knitting needles and the coat hangers.

I don’t like abortion; I don’t think anyone is truly for it. But, since abortion will occur, I would prefer licensed professionals in a medical setting.

The case being tried has nothing to do with most abortion doctors. And it is not exclusive to abortion; witness the case in Georgia of a funeral director who just dumped bodies into a pile rather than cremate them. Does this prove that all funeral directors, all funeral homes, must be outlawed? No matter what your job, if you do it unprofessionally, someone is likely to get hurt, and you’re likely to suffer consequences.
