    Weather and politics are local.

Our winter was cold like the old days, first time in quite a few years.

Ah, springtime in Chicago: shut the schools; put the kids on the street; amp up assault weapons sales. It’s a bright new day in Free Market Land!

It’s been cold here, like it’s supposed to be. Been cold all winter. Low’s in the -20’s or so this winter. Pretty much a return to normal.

Phoenix made two records this year. In early January we had 5 consecutive days with overnight lows below freezing. And two weeks ago we had record highs of 91°. And still the Climate Change deniers insist there is nothing unusual happening.

Yes, it’s true, day by day weather is no proof of anything. But what about long term trends which correlate with causal explanations?

They get very very thin in the winter, so if you’re sideways to them you don’t see them.

I stole it from a Paul Bunyan story I heard when I was a kid, long before Robin Williams.
