In addition to the tax hikes on the nation’s highest income earners, the “fiscal cliff” legislation also included $76 billion in special interest tax credits for General Electric, rum makers and even the Hollywood industry.

Some of the best times this country has ever had is when the two parties don’t get a long that being said right now it is a big exception but is it the system or the values of the members of the legislature.

Having “difference” isn’t a problem. The blatant refusal of Republicans to “get along” at all, on anything, has been like a bitter divorce, with spoiled rich wimps hiring thieving divorce lawyers, out to take from the people, rather than the spouse. It’s time for a little cooperation. Remember, McCarthy aside, our best growth period came with a Republican President, Eisenhower, highest tax rates, and a Congress that could resolve differences. It’s also what put Neil Armstrong, and 11 others, on the moon.

Now why would Glenn infer that the GOP was the one taking it in the rear in the relationship when they are the reason taxpayers are sporting beer barrow attire?

@dtroutma
False!
In 1961, John Fitzgerald Kennedy wanted to put an American on the Moon by the end of the Decade, and NASA was born. On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong was first American to set Foot on the Moon, followed by Buzz Aldrin. Google would have helped you out.

The republicans sent a budget to the senate in August. Normally, if the democrats that control the senate didn’t like that budget they would ammend it, pass the ammended version and send it back to the house. Harry Reid and the democraps refused to bring it to a vote and kept on demanding another budget from the house.
It is time to get the real obstructionists in the senate majority out of office as quickly as humanly possible and return to a functioning government

“In addition to the tax hikes on the nation’s highest income earners,….”

There are a bunch more, too, Radish.
♦
If you’re interested in all of them, they can be found at:
http://thomas.loc.gov/
Click on “112” for Congress number.
Use “American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012” as search word. I think you can find the rest after the search completes.

Special interests definitely left their fingerprints all over this one.

It’s not going to be long before workers owe more in taxes than they earn. Then we can all be on welfare.

Funny I was there and I’m sure Ike was NOT the president when we started the space program and finally put a man on the moon. His Veep was there for the last though.
By the way JFK CUT taxes.
Beside I though Clinton was the high water mark, he had a Repub. house and senate and balanced budgets and a surplus.

Don’t forget the Dem controlled Senate has not done a budget in over THREE YEARS. which is illegal under federal law passed by both houses and signed into law.

Gosh, everyone, as I read trout’s message, he says, " It’s time for a little cooperation…. It’s also what put Neil Armstrong, and 11 others, on the moon." That is, it was cooperation that did this that and the other AND put Armstrong on the moon. I’m quite sure trout remembers when the moon landing happened.

You mean the obstructionists in the Senate would allow an amended budget to be passed and sent back to the House? I think not. You know they wouldn’t. The republicans in the Senate would stand with their low-life colleagues in the House and block any action in the Senate that opposed or disagreed with the budget sent there by the self-serving dolts in the House, so why waste taxpayer time, and give the republicans another chance obstruct the peoples’ business?
