So how well did those tax CUTS do in promoting the economy and building jobs?
We must have had an AMAZINGLY high employment rate at the end of the Bush regime, right?
Because tax cuts FORCE employers to hire more people, not merely to put more profits into their own pockets while they “Rightsize” their workforces. Right?
    RIGHT????

Republicans claim that they want the Bush tax cuts kept for the middle class. So why refuse to vote on it? So Boehner can obtain concessions in order to protect ‘small’ businesses of Koch, Bain, and Bechtel?
    -
Oh yes, Boehner and the Republicans are working ‘for the good of the country’. I guess there are people who actually believe that.

McCoy and the McCoyettes still singing the same song. “It’s all his fault.” Time to get a new record. This one is a 78.

All our countries representatives are corrupt, we need to clean house and start anew, it will happen eventually, you can only push people so far before they say, enough is enough.

    From the Beatles:
Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet.

Don’t ask me what I want it for
If you don’t want to pay some more
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
‘Cause I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
And you’re working for no one but me.

    Loved the poem.
The cartoon ignores so many important details as to make it superficial, but your poem made reading the comments worthwhile.
    thank you TJ.

Got to pay for those unfunded wars and mandated programs sometime. It only gets worse the longer you wait. Grim reality, but it is what it is.

    @ScottPM

“….Why won’t Obama stop spending worse than a drunken sailor?…”
    .
The vast amount of the deficit are mandated spending and the discretionary spending of wars, all of which Obama inherited. Obama’s discretionary spending, not counting wars, has been modest in comparison to other presidents.

Ah … but he said nothing about “unearning” enough and that’s where the rich get most of their money.

No, bad metaphor – the Grinch stole from the poor to keep for himself – that’s the Bush tax cuts. When his heart grew, he gave it back – that’s Obama.

How about Obama’s song “It’s all Bush’s fault”? That is getting awful old! All he knows how to do is blame someone else.

Taxes to the Republicans is like kryptonite to Superman. We wouldn’t have a functioning government without them a necessary evil if you will. Everyone needs to pay their fair share otherwise the services we take for granted like Social Security & a strong defense go away.
