I’d sill like to see a teacher explain to their students why he got the NPP. His community organizing? Golf skills?

Yep, Obama should be a one man fire department, but he should do it without spending our tax dollars.

There must be something about the reasons for awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize that I don’t know.

Basically, the committee was so excited over the prospect of America finally putting someone politically correct in the White House that they forked it over to him because he might make strong contributions to world peace.
I’d say that they were a little hasty in this regards…

Get over yourself. Other blacks have won it, but they actually did something to earn it. You just cannot get over the fact that he has never earned it and should have it taken away.

isn’t it hypocrisy for Obama to blame an unknown 13 minute YouTube video for the global eruption that started in Libya and Egypt, while in collusion with Hollywood to make a movie with Obama the Hero getting Osama bin Laden? How “offended” will they be when a real movie is being shown how their “champion” and Jihadist leader was killed?

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world’s leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama’s appeal that “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”

Obama has has never publicly claimed to be alone in his achievements. In fact, the President has frequently given credit to the institutions and people that have helped him throughout his life.

Simple: it’s the fire the Bushes started back in ’91, and current Republicans, and their “buddy” Netanyahu, keep pouring gas on.

Obama did not give himself anything was my point. All I did way copy and paste the press release from those who gave the award to him as to their reasoning.

Obama did not ask for it, but treated it as an honor. There is no reason he should alienate the world and tell them they are wrong.

It’s like awarding a Super Bowl win to a team at the very start of the season, because they might end up the champions at the end of the season.
