Hundreds of police officers killed over the years in the U.S., by guns, mostly hand guns. How many acquired due to NRA efforts to block access, or tracking of those weapons?

While the death of any officer is a tragedy, so were the deaths of over 5,000 U.S. troops in a “false war” in Iraq.

Oh, right, those thousands died due to “conservative” policies.

Nice try but the ballistics tests showed it did. That website does not provide any proof or facts.

cheap shot. Yeah, democrats don’t do that sort of thing do they. But let’s look at it some.

Bush had a similar operation. It was conduced with the assistance of the Mexican government (difference one). They didn’t have good control of the operational objective either and lost track. The operation was terminated and all others like it. The objective was to track guns and identify cartels and eliminate them. Didn’t work.

Now what was the objective of Fast and Furious? According to one snitch it was to give one cartel dominance in the field of drugs and to eliminate their competition. Sounds like a Chicago mob trick to me but the stated objective was once again to track the guns. Hey did they think they were so much smarter than the Bush guys that they could do the same thing and not lose control?

And then the cover up. I’ll take a page from the democrat mantra. If you have nothing to hide why won’t you release all of the documents? Well, Holder says the same thing “you have all the information you need to have”. Yep I’ll run the most transparent administration in history (hahahahahahahahah)

    Cheap shot. Yep.

Had a nice visit over the weekend with my nephew, who’s been held up for some time in opening his gun store because the banks have money, but aren’t lending. They keep upping how much he has to come up with on his own, about as much as he needs to borrow.

While we “disagree” on some points on the NRA’s “policies and advocacy”, he, as a LEGAL owner of automatic weapons, and a lot of firearms the “average person” doesn’t begin to need, like a Barrett .50, agrees that controls on who can own, or where weapons go after sale to “legal” folks, isn’t what it should be.

We both agree that MY state’s minimum requirements for a concealed carry permit, SHOULD be the minimum requirement for purchasing any centerfire firearm, long or short. It’s about training; securing firearms, ethics of when to USE; or NOT, AND proof folks know how to handle firearms safely.

The REAL lesson on “Fast and Furious” is that our current system for controlling firearms sales and possession, are NOT adequate. THAT is what the Brian Terry story really tells.

As a legitimate firearms owner, with a lot of experience in their use, in combat and law enforcement, and knowing how “bad guys” get their weapons, I’m not calling for banning firearms, just doing a LOT better job of controlling who has them, and how they’re obtained. The NRA consistently stands in the way of valid, rational, regulations.

Bush is gone. Even his own party has disowned him. So, yes, we are a great deal better off!

The trouble with selling guns only to law abiding citizens is that everyone is a law abiding citizen until they decide to commit a crime.
