    John Hancock had no trouble reading their document, but today’s bills are longer than many of those guys LIBRARIES, and a lot longer than Bush’s reading list.

    The reason that their document wasn’t nearly as long as much of the legislation is now is because it was not stuffed full of legaleze meant to decieve, mislead, and otherwise confuse the reader into thinking the legislation is something it actually is not.

    Legislation is made long on purpose in order to dupe the people who read or hear about it. It’s a big sham.

    All told, though, McCoy makes a rare excellent point.

    No matter how tortuously worded, no legislator should sign a bill that he hasn’t analyzed in detail.
