    Bush took it with him.

If Glenn had written one of these during the bush administration when the debt went from 5T to 11T, this might be interesting. Right now however this is just a partisan hack job.

Thanks for sharing your ignorance Glenn.

Liberals can certainly take criticism. They don’t, however, like falsehoods in the guise of “criticism” or blame for things they didn’t do.

Plus I’m getting a bit tired of McCoy’s wheeze about Obama’s smoking.

At least Obama has a debt clock because Bush sure didn’t!!!!!!

Dale: It’s true. The Debt Clock was turned off (it was running backwards, y’know?) and retired by the end of the Clinton presidency. Bush’s and conservative policies brought it out of retirement, turned it back on and ramped it up into overdrive – so much so that it ran out of digits!

But it’s Obama’s fault that the clock is on the table.

    Right.

Let’s continue to blame Bush, it won’t get anything solved but it makes liberals feel better when they screw up.

Joyce, if the country goes from a surplus to a deficit who should we blame?

McCoy… so out of touch. So sad.

It was under Bush, and his policies, that they had to add a digit. Just the facts, Ma’am. And you can also note Reagan/Bush 41 took it from under a trillion -to 6 trillion.

daniels–it was not Clinton who balanced the budget–it was Congress. All Clinton did was divide the country as never before and it has continued since.

Howgozit, if Clinton “divided the country as never before” what did Bush do other than coming close to helping kill off the GOP?

Clinton divided the country?? And Bush was “a uniter, not a divider”, right?

    The history rewrite continues.

“daniels–it was not Clinton who balanced the budget–it was Congress.”

    Y’know, history disagrees with you.

The Congress was in the hands of the Democrats until the beginning of 1995. Republicans took office at that point and began to take credit for gains that were happening BEFORE they got into office.

But, hey, keep thinking it’s the Republicans that are the economic wizards that they claim to be. Your numbers will continue to dwindle until you realize that maybe, just maybe, you might possibly be wrong.
