Like a lot of us are of hearing you and the other right wing MINORITY kool-aid drinkers out there ANandy.
Get a clue, there’s a reason con-job-servative Republicans are in the minority now. It’s because most of what you think is DEAD WRONG!

You continually use ad hominen attacks, ANandy. Do you think they help?

2816 They help his over inflated sense of self worth…otherwise he is nothing.

Oldie, could it be that he has too low a sense of self-worth? Maybe insulting others is the only way he feels he can earn attention. I’ll ask my niece, the soon to be graduating psychologist.

Or maybe he is just a humongous bore. He certainly has no sense of humor and a limited vocabulary, if his postings are reflective of his mind.

Capn- Where was Bush after his eight minute freeze on 9/11, oh right, the deepest bunker in the U.S. And exactly what secure undisclosed location did Cheney find?

Joe should have been less up front for PR purposes, but avoiding close quarters and contact IS the way to avoid contracting, or spreading a dangerous airborne pathogen. Or is that just avoiding Rush Limbaugh?

Perhaps you’re right. Let’s see what happens if we suddenly started ignoring people like ANandy, stewiez, and harleyquinn. I know I’m going to start. At least until they decide to start provide something mature and constructive.

So, daniel, etc….the left is going to ignore the Right. How mature of you!!

  15. danielsangeo

    danielsangeo said, 6 months ago

“the left is going to ignore the Right”

Only if “the Right” defines themselves as stewiez, harley, and company have done in the past with nothing but schoolyard insults. If you define that as “the Right”, then yes, I will ignore that.

However, if someone on the Right decides to be mature and constructive, I make it a point to NOT ignore them.

  16. NoFearPup

    NoFearPupGenius_badge said, 6 months ago

Cool, Anng! This is another pattern of the leftists here…they frequently take the “high road” in order to moan about how immature , reactionary, ignorant, etc. the Right is…but, ignore their own infractions …

  17. anng628

    anng628 said, 6 months ago

NoFear - I have noticed that!

  18. danielsangeo

    danielsangeo said, 6 months ago

And there’s a pattern of the rightists here. They moan about those that try to elevate the discussion and claim that “other leftists are immature so that means I get to be”.

Yes, there are some rude people on the left. Do you have to degrade yourself by copying them?

Oh, and I notice that no one has stated that “the Right” is “immature , reactionary, ignorant, etc.”

Just that some people on “the Right” are that way when they act immature, reactionary, ignorant. Perhaps you didn’t realize it, but when we say this, we are NOT talking about the group; we’re talking about the person.

    That’s the difference.

Does it bother anyone else that the media is having a Swine Flu Frenzy, when half a million people die of seasonal flu every year, and no one really seems to care then? Why the big hullabaloo now?

  20. Anthony 2816

Anthony 2816Genius_badge said, 6 months ago

The media is having the same problem the health departments are. If they just gloss over swine flu, and it turns out to be a highly virulent disaster, then everyone will be wanting to know why we weren’t warned and prepared.

Pretty much a no-win situation for both the media and health departments.

But at least with erring on the side of over-coverage, the media is doing the public a service, in that the flu will not spread as fast, the more people follow the simple precautions.

  21. LLeRay

    LLeRayGenius_badge said, 6 months ago

But deadheadzan, danielsangeo, believecommonsense, I like hitting the punching bags that Stewie and ANny represent! Should we avoid shooting enemy targets just because they’re stupid? You’ve tried politeness and reason with these caricatures, but there is no positive response.

This is a tiring melodrama that they seem to love. I prefer drama when the characters learn and grow during the play, and these two don’t, so I’ll bash them because victimizers get bashed in melodramas. If they want to switch to a more interesting from of entertainment, I’ll help.

  22. danielsangeo

    danielsangeo said, 6 months ago

LL: That’s your choice, but bashing them doesn’t help either. It just further cements their worldview and makes them think they’re accurate (else they wouldn’t be bashed).

For now, if they decide to be insulting, I’ll ignore them. If they choose to be an adult, I’ll treat them as such.

Otherwise, you’re just feeding the trolls.

  23. cdward

    cdward said, 6 months ago

Anthony, quite right. Added to the PR part (better to be overcautious than too lax) is the fact that when they became aware of Swine Flu, the medical world really didn’t know what it would do or how fast it could spread. They were open about it, and said that was what had them most concerned. I am sympathetic to their lose-lose situation.

  24. cdward

    cdward said, 6 months ago

As to Stewie and ANanday, in some Amish and Mennonite communities, they employ a practice called Shunning in which a person who violates the community’s norms is avoided. Members do not kick them out but neither do they speak with them or have any contact with them. When the shunned person tries to initiate contact with anyone from the community, they turn their back. Cruel but effective - and not as bad as some other alternatives.
I think shunning may be appropriate for these two because they violate the norms of civil discourse and show no respect for either the subjects of the cartoons or the other posters.

cdward, You’ve persuaded me to try. So one week? A fortnight? Would flagging all their negative posts help?

  26. Anthony 2816

Anthony 2816Genius_badge said, 6 months ago

I just clicked on a flag, and it said it’s for “inappropriate” content.

Since stupidity is protected by the First Amendment, there’s probably no reason to flag the posts of Stewiez and ANandy.

  27. cdward

    cdward said, 6 months ago

Anthony, I’m not sure a constant medley of abusive insults directed at other readers as well as the president would not be considered inappropriate.

  28. Anthony 2816

Anthony 2816Genius_badge said, 6 months ago

I was going to remain neutral to your post, Cdward, but little Stewiez’s response convinces me you are correct.

I’ll start flagging all his posts that are like this one.
