What speeches?
Her iPod is filled with Broadway show tunes with a big chunk being Rodgers & Hammerstein!

“Uploaded onto the iPod:
[Several pictures/videos] …
* Photos from President Obama’s Inauguration
* Audio of then-state senator Obama’s speech at the 2004 Democratic National Convention, and
* Audio of President Obama 2009 Inauguration Address”
Those speeches^

Don’t you know you can’t explain facts to liberals? They are much smarter than us commoners.

This guy is hilarious. Anyone who has ever had to endure the long wait to see the “genius” at the genius bar can totally understand. I think this was a cheesy gift to give the Queen. By the way those guys look just like the guys who work at our Apple store.

BobE, there are more “commoners” (as you put it) in the Dem party than the GOP. The GOP is home to the wealthy and influential blue-blooded old money and power that keeps itself on top of the heap by stepping over the “commoners’” best interest on a constant basis, and ensuring that the rest of us help maintain their own self-proclaimed ‘superiority’ by granting them welfare in the form of tax loopholes, shelters, and other IRS codes most of us don’t even know about.
It’s the “commoners” who said “No, not this time” when they went to the polls in 2008.

Bob - you are SO right (as in “correct”). You cannot explain facts to liberals. BCS is the perfect example. She does not seem to realize that not ALL GOPers are wealthy. I know a lot of Republicans. None of them are wealthy.

BCS - There are actually more wealthy people in the (UN)democratic party, and the welfare is the give-away mentality that provides tax-rebates to those that do not pay income taxes! If you take a close look, most of the millionaires in the Senate have a D after their name, starting from a certain Jay Rockefeller. Add to that people like George Soros, Bill Gates, and a few others like that. I think you probably need to think twice before you post such inane and trite messages.

WillieB, there are wealthy people registered in both parties so throwing out a few names proves nothing. If you believe the “commoners” as Bob E called them, represent the bulk of the GOP party, then why on earth does the GOP scream for more and more taxcuts for the wealthy. Those tax giveaways don’t go to the “commoners.”
And there’s different kinds of welfare, including corporate welfare and defense contractors welfare and, yes, welfare to the powerful and influential who surround the capitol with their lobbyists.

Believe in Common Sense
A recent poll was taken and fonud DEMOCRATS as a group are wealthier than Republicans. That just goes to show one more ridiculous notion the Democrats are trying to shove down American’s throat. So, that age old statement is bull.

No BCS–they go to ALL of Congress who could give a bleeep about any one of us–just themselves.

WOW- really ganging up on believe- rich Democrats more numerous than rich Republicans? Where are you getting the numbers? And who cares? Our economy has collapsed and it collapsed while the previous administration was in control. Halliburton and Blackwater made out like robber barons. I don’t give a bleeep how many i-pods are given as gifts, I want to see jobs, jobs, jobs, created for our citizens and the sooner the better.
HOWGOZIT said, 7 months ago
YES–while Congress has been in “control” not the administration.

Howie, ”while Congress has been in “control” not the administration”
what? when has the administration not been in control? Now? Under Bush? Are you talking about when Dems got control of Congress in Jan. 07? What are you talking about?

Congress controls all purse strings. It is not all the administration causing problems in US and world today. The administration (no matter which party) is never in comploete control. They are always begging Congress to take the action on something. True policies are shaped by administrations but cannot be fully carried out without Congress. And the minority can control through filibusters, obstruction, etc., I was not referring to now or last administrations specifically.
fennec said, 7 months ago
Howie, excellent points. Would that more understood what you have said.

Howie, yes, that’s how our founders designed the checks and balance of our republic. The filibuster rule may have overstayed its purpose though. It allows a minority of one party in one house of one branch to stop the whole ball of works in its tracks.
(mixed metaphor there)

What’s the problem, Queenie-Baby? Don’t like listening to Obamie droning on for hours in that “Scraping-Fingernails-On-A-Blackboard” monotone of his? Well, we can fix that up right quick for you —Auto-Delete-Obamie-Files!
Michigander said, 7 months ago
Is the queen now wanting to modernize her ways since the Obama’s visit? The British Guards wearing the same kind of uniforms that they have had for centuries just wouldn’t fit in then, would it? Since President Obama has his Blackberry, Queen Elizabeth can have new gadgets, too.
Rik Gobeille said, 7 months ago
That wasn’t a “cheesy” gift!
The Queen gave Obama a framed picture of herself – now THAT was chessy!
