Rush had the %$#@ nerve to want Obama to come on his show and debate him! Obama is as busy as Mark Foley in Boystown and does NOT have the time & energy to waste on this egotist!

,Obama has 60 percent approval rating,
, 67 Per cent Americans “hopeful” about his presidency,

believecommonsense, I think the majority started to hate Rush when he made fun of Michael J. Fox’s illness… that was so low and so immature! At least Mr. Fox is doing something for others… has Rush?

    Hey Humphries! A new troll!

wbr says “bo is to economy what sherman was to ga.” Does that mean you wanted the slaving Old South traitors (yes, they really are traitors) do win? Or do you mean that Obama is gonna roll through the opposition like Sherman did to those warmongering people that fired the first shot? Maybe you believe the myth that Sherman did more damage to Georgia than the Rebels did themselves before the Union army traveled to the coast, or the freed slaves did after his army went through? I’d love to debate the Civil War!

And I like wbr’s analogy=Obama and the Dems do have a policy of “Scorch and Burn” for the economy…how else can they sell their [social-experimentation] to us Americans? They want to totally remake everything so it can’t be fixed later on…

Most people by this point know that responding to harley, wrb and their ilk will not bring anything intelligent or even coherent out of them. I respond because other curious and thoughtful people might not wish to sully their typing skills (mine need work) sending a reply. So, if wrb thinks he could keep what he earns without a government to make employers pay and the local warlord from taking everything, he’s nuts.

“[G]overnment is a jewel of human association and an heirloom of human reason; that government, though it may do ill, does good; that a lot of the good that government does only it can do; that the size of government must be fitted to the size of its tasks, and so, for a polity such as ours, big government is the only government; that strong government comports well with strong freedom; … [A] government based on rights cannot exclude from its concern the adversities of the people who confer upon it its legitimacy, or consign their remediation to the charitable moods of a preferred and decadent few; … [N]obody was ever rescued, or enlarged, by being left alone.” (all emphasis mine) Leon Wieselteier in the New Republic p. 48 March 4, 2009.

Local and state government needs to keep up with Federal government then, or we need an intermediary seat of government between Federal and State; call it the Regional Interests of American Citizens. Our government was not designed for Top-heavy Federalism; I don’t think Americans want an autonomous Federalism making their choices for them.

  30. NoFearPup

    NoFearPupGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

Okay I’ll play Danny. How about: “socialism is when government makes private-sector decisions without public input.” Sounds like grounds for “Revolution” to me! But what “socialism” means isn’t really the problem here is it? It’s how much the Dems will turn over to their elite friends and cronies, and shove down the throats of Free, “Free”, (Sovereign -legal-entities) FREE , emancipated AMERICANS!!!!! At our expense.

uhh, NFP, i think deadhead’s comment does seem to apply to you
and deadhead, I know you’re correct … I have some friends who I wouldn’t have thought harbored racism, but as their comments about Obama start adding up over time, it does seem they have a problem with a black (bi-racial actually) man being in charge and having power they never imagined a black could have

Hey, cdward, I would endorse using that quote if you go to the source and read what the ellipses are leaving out. I wanted a positive quote, and Mr Wieseltier trashes a few idols on his way to the point.

    LLeRayGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

NFP wants to increase bureaucracy by inserting a level of management between the state and the federal governments, thus, he wants bigger government. Puppy sure has changed his tune.

NFP also wants the policies of the United States Government to fail - it’s one thing to to try to block Obama’s policies before they’re enacted, but afterward, saying he wants them to fail is to want the gov’t to fail. This looks like he wants us to go the way of Yugoslavia; Balkanized into tiny city-states bickering like the ancient Greeks, waiting for the Persians to swallow us.

Which is it Puppy? More Government or more Governments?

  43. NoFearPup

    NoFearPupGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

It was just one idea…How about a Tri-cameral Congress with a third group of State-Reps empowered to allocate and spend the money collected and earmarked by the Executive and other two legislatures? Again it’s just an idea - splitting up powers and thereby creating checks and balances and co-operation amongst the competing groups. You people wanted “hope and change” but you get the same old lying cr@p from your reps and pres. To answer your question directly LLeray, I don’t mind a little more government if it’s handled responsibly and obtained by a clear consensus of the people.

  44. LLeRay

    LLeRayGenius_badge said, 8 months ago

Well puppy, that is the balancing act needed for self-government: how many checks are enough to protect us from the human tendency to dictate versus too many checks that keep anything from getting accomplished. Living in Seattle sort of made me wary of too much process.
