I think you’re missing a fundamental point, Glenn (as usual). McCain, who argued for MONTHS that Obama doesn’t have the necessary experience to be President, picks someone whose resume is weaker than Obama’s. And this is a 72-year-old man who’s already had issues with cancer. He NEEDS to pick someone who’s ready to step in immediately.
If he thinks Palin is good enough, then he completely legitimizes Obama’s qualifications.

You ain’t seen nothing yet. For months, righties have been accusing Obama supporters of being blinded to his inexperience because he tells them what they want to hear. Palin is going to do the exact same thing when she preaches to the base, and voila … inexperience suddenly becomes irrelevant.

McCoy set another record of low standards.
If Glenn had gone to the Olympics he would have won more gold medals in hipocrisy and stupidity than Phelps…

Looks as if Palin will get giving cartoonist material though!

The only experience McCain has is making bad decisions. Voted with Bush 90% of the time. Not the kind of experience I’m interested in. And on National Security, we all know what he went through in Vietnam was horrific, but McCain was part of a failed war, and was captured, not really great experience there either.

The only thing I don’t understand about this comic is why does McCain look More like Rush Limbaugh then John McCain? Can Glenn McCoy not even draw John McCain properly?

Palin is definitely inexperienced when it comes to running for President. People that inexperienced shouldn’t run for President. The role of President is not a place for on the job training. But Vice-President is.
Palin ascended to elected office before Obama, and has 2 years of executive experience - in a state where governance is very complicated - whereas Obama has none.

The Palin pick seems reminiscent of the Harriet Miers pick by W.

Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It’s on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden’s.
She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country’s defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don’t even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.
From Anne-Marie: Palin has more executive experience than McCain, Obama, and Biden combined!

So by bellybutton’s logic, she’s more qualified than Obama because Alaska is nearer to Russia?
Cindy McCain said that on an interview, and she looked mighty stupid, and so do you right now
