There is no possible situation where a person would, when having their picture taken, say the phrase “Make me look thin!”
Therefore, I am forced to conclude that all of the characters in this comic are robots, desperately trying to appear to be human, but never quite understanding. Caught between one world and the other, they shall never be anything more than monsters.

toasteroven’s right. It’s the “uncanny valley” in 2D.

Geez, toast, the first part of your statement took the words right out of my mouth, only I was going to add “See what inbreeding does to IQ’s?”

It’s understandable when a legacy strip becomes lame and irrelevant… but this is a fairly new syndicated series.
It is objectively awful in every way. I just don’t understand how something like this exists.

Modern digital cameras, single shot and movie, tend to make people look exactly how they look.
Makeup artists on TV shows had to adjust their techniques so that formerly hidden facial flaws on analog TV sets won’t show up on digital TV sets.
If the guy with the camera has a computer and can connect the camera to the computer, he can download the photo with Harris and edit the photo to make him look thin.

This strip & The Quigmans leave a lot to be desired in terms of artwork & writing. It’s far funnier to poke this strip with a sharp stick, so we do. Sometimes it’s like watching a frog turn its stomach inside out.
crunkbot - You’ve been put on notice! (LOL!)

It was so important that JJBeanie had to say it twice.
