    Wow, just think how impressed the guys would be if he got herpes.

    re: P1: Apparently the hip-hop-happening hairstyle in Milford is “The Tonsure”.

    Either that or his barber is a monk.

    Sure he can leave early. He’s bigger than the teacher. Tomorrow could be a problem.
    Was this essential to the plot?

    He got mono and missed an entire season – yeah that’s so very lucky!
    Gil obviously has no idea what’s been going on in the classroom with Lucky or he wouldn’t be pulling him for a media request.

    Playa is the Spanish word for beach, which is the way Spanish people pronounce what Lucky’s teammates really think he is.

    It’s crazy to think Lucky would need to get out of class early. Is Marjie’s time so valuable she can’t talk to him after school or after practice? I’ve worked on small-town papers, it would never occur to anyone to ask that a student be let out early for an interview.

    @kdizzle

    Gil knows, but he blames Rakesh.

    He gets out early and they go to the field to talk.
    Marjie shows up at practices all the time.
    She’s lucky. She doesn’t have to sit through games.

    Ah yes, good to know that HS sport is more important than HS classes. ‘The media and fans should stop making “stars” out of children – just let them be kids.
    (Yeah, I’m probably dreaming, but they ARE still children while they’re in school.)

    Luckys head in p.1 actually doubles as a coaster for his nightly Root Beer from Amy. While Marjie been dragging her butt around for several years, first I’ve ever heard of the MILFord Star!

    Good to know that Gil still makes an occasional appearance in this strip. Can’t figure out, though, if it’s his hand or the stack of papers on his desk that are asking if Lucky can leave class early.

    @DaleJQP

    She’s only lucky because, in panel 2.5, she rubs his head. Unfortunately, panel 4 is when Amy walked in while she was still rubbing it.

    I thought for sure Gil was going to say, “After those three doubles, Marty Moon wants to talk to you. Talk slow, though, because he slurs a little after his second double.”

    Yeah, after bombing on his presentation I’m sure the teacher has no problem letting him out of class as a reward.

    He gets a feature article because he had 3 doubles? What would happen if he hit a homerun? They must be starved for sports news in Milford.

    In all reality , while rubbing his head Amy discovers the bulging brian tumor Lucky has grown , P1. Tomorow P 1 will show Lucky grazing up at Amy while being wheeled into Milford General operating room. P2 will have Lucky saying Im still the luckiest man alive having met you Amy. P3 will show Amy and Lucky kissing as tears trickle down Amys cheeks.
