    Thorpe handled that like a rookie . . . maybe not even that well.

    I’ve also not seen a watch band or side burns that big since 1979

    Back in the day, every learning tactic Coach Gil employed usually worked. Has modern day society passed Thorp by? Do you think Wally Lamb woulda taken the business Hard Knox is doling out?

    Wow, Milford has the largest bleachers I’ve ever seen. A kid can lay on not have any part of his body be even close to the edge.

    I hope they weren’t filiming this for the potential pilot episode of Gil’s new coaching/judging TV show.

    That’s the gym exit? Looks like Steves’ janitor closet.

    There were more than two kids there so no name in panel 1 isn’t the only one who voted for Knox.

    HMWT, I believe the giant bleachers were installed to reduce Milford’s liability. You can’t fall off a bleacher if you can’t reach the edge.

    @miffedmax

    I had to look long and hard before I figured out they were still on the bleachers. They look like they’re on the Up escalator at the Milford Mall.

    This is starting to make the peacock seem interesting.

    There is definitely an OSHA concern here. Of course it will be able to be addressed with the stroke of a pen. Simply draw hand rails and stairway access for all rows. Although I don’t see a panic bar on the ‘Single’ door, at least it does open outward. I guess the architect of Milford High never heard of the Iroquois Theatre.

    @Ellisburkes

    I just read up on the Iroquois Theatre. I always thought it was the Cocoanut Grove fire that caused laws to change so that doors had to open outward. Interesting.
