    Suddenly Gil and Mimi look the same age as Kaz and his girlfriend. Maybe this strip has done a time warp and we have been seeing the years before Gil and Mimi had children and a dog. This idea worked for the strip For Better or For Worse.

    It’s a shadow. Look at any goog drawing or painting or even a photograph. The top lip is almost always in shadow compared to the bottom lip.
