I gather this means Al-Jo is a shortstop, though the way it’s written, she was a shortstop at Elon University. Maybe in another life?

I think “Really? Me too!” is going to be her “tag line” or reply to almost everything. “So, Alcala-la-la-la, you go drinkin’ with Gil and Kaz?” “Sure, lots of times.” “Really? Me too!”

Okay, let’s review. The strip has spent two days on a dialogue between Gil and Mimi about whether or not Gil should let a player be on the team and miss practice. We also had two days being introduced to a AlJo who plays softball and sings. Does anyone else see a problem brewing? I’ll bet Gil’s decision will affect Mimi when AlJo wants time off from practice to pursue her singing like Derek got.

Guess Gilbert is going with the times, being permissive to select players. He should read one of his 1958 strips to see what he has become.

P1: Derek warming up with the palm ball. This storyline is another train wreck rolling towards us.

I love the proportions of the arm of the thrower in P1– his arm must be 5-6 feet long————–shortstop huh? wait until that hair gets in her eyes digging a hot grounder and she gets the ball in the chops——–maybe the resulting fat lip will make her sing better

Al-Jo better invest in a pair of Sports Spex. Those cat eye numbers are going to get wrecked playing short.

Is that girl supposed to be wearing a visor in P3?

Ah, Elon … now the atrociously lame nickname of the Phoenix, when once they had one of the greatest nicknames in college sports - the Fighting Christians

The famous Chan-Jo Duet takes the field. Dr Pearl gives Gil and Mimi a tongue lashing for the new double standards and both teams finish third. However, Chan-Jo zoom to the top of the charts with their CW/Coffee house blend.

Once a upon a time a PbP man at Elon was able to say “There’s another grounder sucked up in the Glory hole!”.
