Its unlikely a prison hospital would have private rooms for prisoners. The Daleys are messed up because there is no father taking responsibility for his family, typical walkout or their lives coward.

Yup, that Doc’s eaves dropping!
Not everybody in prison is a hooligan. There are plenty of people who were framed, railroaded, etc., or who are in there for some nonviolent “crime” that is really not a crime at all.

“Hooligans!?” Hooligans smash your jack-o-lanterns or leave a flaming bag of dog doo-doo on your front porch. Prisons don’t have hooligans. They have criminals. Mr. Daly’s contemporaries are rapists, drug dealers, pimps and puddin’ poppers.

Milford is a small town so he is probably in a normal hospital accompanied by a 24/7 guard.

The guy’s not IN Milford.
