Housecats are known to be aloof, but "cat-titude" reaches new heights in Get Fuzzy, the bitingly hilarious comic strip from cartoonist Darby Conley. Available daily and Sunday and appearing in 650 newspapers nationwide, Get Fuzzy is a wry portrait of single life, with pets. At the center of this warm and fuzzy romp is Rob Wilco, a single, mild-mannered ad executive and guardian of anthropomorphic scamps Bucky and Satchel. Bucky is a temperamental cat who clearly wears the pants in this eccentric household. Satchel is a gentle pooch who tries to remain neutral, but frequently ends up on the receiving end of Bucky's mischief. Together, this unlikely trio endures all the trials and tribulations of a typical family... more or less.
The National Cartoonists Society honored Get Fuzzy with a Reuben division award, naming it the Best Newspaper Comic Strip of 2002. There are a dozen Get Fuzzy compilation books published by Andrews McMeel: The Dog Is Not a Toy (House Rule #4); Get Fuzzy 2: Fuzzy Logic; Groovitude: A Get Fuzzy Treasury; The Get Fuzzy Experience: Are You Bucksperienced; Bucky Katt's Big Book of Fun; Blueprint for Disaster; Say Cheesy; Scrum Bums; Loserpalooza; I'm Ready for My Movie Contract; and Take Our Cat, Please; plus Get Fuzzy wall and box calendars.

Buck’s the perfect embodiment of those hating on baseball. And yet, he’s so funny doing it.

I can so relate to Bucky! And not just baseball, all sports. However I don’t hate the sports, I simply avoid watching or listening to them, it’s not difficult.

Gotta say, Rob’s pretty glassy eyed himself, there. Of course if what you’re into is sprawling motionless on the sofa, there’s that.

Baseball on TV…how else can one cram 5 minutes of excitement into 3 whole hours!

My Cubs tanked before June, so I stopped caring :)

Well, who can look away from …“ancient Chinese secret, huh”?

If Bucky were a Yankee fanlike me, he couldn’t do anything else but watch the games, especially now that they’re in the playoffs. That’s probably what Rob’s watching tho he’s not wearing a Yankee hat. If the ball were a tunaburger, Bucky would be interested.

I think that’s the greatest appeal to watching sports on TV. It’s an (incredibly lame) excuse to sit around and do nothing but waste your time. Sitting in the stadium is a little differnt. It’s also a different type of stupid, $10.00 beers, $8.00 hot dogs. But some people have more money than brains.

I must be part cat then. Can’t stand to watch baseball on TV. Give me a good NFL game anyday.

Baseball is for viewers who can’t divide their attention very well, like me (when I have any interest in sports). I find football and basketball too much of a blitz.

I’ll be listening to Braves v. Cards tonight on a very straight long highway. I’m going to need caffeine too.

Since a cat spends most of its time sitting around napping/inactive, interspersed with brief, frantic activity, I’d think that baseball is the perfect “cat sport”.

Nothing wrong with pro sports that a hot dog and a couple beers can’t fix.

Very true. I probably spend more time focusing on the venders and pacing/racing for the next round than watching baseball, but the atmosphere is fun!
