Even the dog is excited. Take him on the steam engine, too.

If he was here he could ride the Georgetown loop.

10 or 15 years ago, I had the privilege of riding in the cab with the engineer and fireman on the Georgetown Loop. it was quite a thrill!

Except for the smelly tires, this would be fun. I still wish for a cure. Could a cure be found in the pollution created by burning tires? Only in a comic strip could it be.

We can all breathe easier: No environment (nor tire) was harmed in the drawing of this comic strip.

Just enough tires to get them back to the train yard. I’m sure they’ll be burning coal again once they return.

We are still pikers when comes to curing disease. Orphan ones, those with only a few infected, are even less likely to have a cure, much less treatment for them.

Worked at a machine shop where one of the honchos was “in the loop” as one of the restorers. He turned crank shaft bearing molds on the lathe before submitting them to a casting place in Denver the shop was having work done at. He machined the rough stuff into finished bearings and pressed them into the cranks. One Saturday he got the whole shop a free ride on the train. The following weekend or so, he had the owner and I up to ride right on the engine. Didn’t get to drive as Boog’s friend is hoping to. The old man donated the use of the shop and likely even paid toward having the castings made. The rail guy worked evenings and weekends to get it done.

With your name, and add about 5 years to the long end of your estimate and I would say, did we work at that same place ?

No, I never worked in Colorado, I was visiting my sister and brother-in-law, and I saw a pretty girl in a skirt aboard the engine. I figured she was the wife or girlfriend of a crew member, but I asked, and she turned out to be a paying passenger. So, we came back the next day, and I bought another ticket with the express understanding that it would b e a cab ride. They were very accommodating.

My jobs were all in Ohio; I was a printer. But I’ve always been quite interested in the railroads.
