Gretchen, please don’t forget to take that monstrosity of a dog with you. Please!

Arye Uygur: Which, of course, we know she won’t!
    .
In the time that Mike Curtis and Joe Staton brought together most of Dick Tracy’s entire underworld of adversaries in order to explain the mysterious appearance of Junior’s presumed dead wife – a woman from the moon – including numerous nods to Tracy foes present and past – all we have gotten here is:
    .
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
Clovia goes to Hawaii without Slim
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
Gretchen shows up with monstrous dog
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
Dog is portrayed as smarter than Slim
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
We still have no idea who Guido is
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
Looks like Slim is stuck with a dog
    .
Tomorrow is Sunday, usually something different. But Monday, it looks like we’re overdue for yet another:
    .
Clovia tells fat jokes and picks on Slim
    .
    Ugh.

Right now, Jim Scancarelli reminds me of certain members of Congress, of whom it has been said,
    .
“It’s not that they constantly shoot themselves in the foot that’s so amazing, it’s how fast they are able to reload!

Unfortunately, I agree with you. I’ve held off with my negative comments about how slow and irritating this story is because I’ve earned such a bad reputation in the Alley Oop forum. I did comment one time however, “Enough already. Let’s have a real story.”

Yeah. If I wanted to read “Marmaduke”, I’d read “Marmaduke”. (I don’t.) This is totally lame.

Its time for someone new to take over the strip, after almost 30 years Scancarelli is out of ideas.

She couldn’t walk downstairs from the living quarters to the garage to tell him this? She has to phone him?

I know Slim isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but that’s no reason for both Clovia and Gretchen to treat him with such a lack of respect. I wish just once that Slim would stick up for himself.

I admit that if I was writing I would put some SiFi and strange elements into the story line and history of Gasoline Alley. In my Alternate Alley Oop eventually you will see some of it.

I was just getting to like the dog.
He loves Slim. (Hey, at least he
    he has unconditional love and
    acceptance; that’s the best part
of a dog. They’re the best friends )

Title of this story that started in the middle of summer should be “How Slim Got Himself a Dog”. I don’t mind Slim keeping the dog. He is the best friend Slim has.
