Am I not getting it, or is this the third consecutive day without a punchline?

You won’t be picking him up in EWR Slim — he was pushed onto a flight from there to where you are by the airline.

So the flight was not cancelled! I thought it was the airline’s obligation to deliver its passengers to their destination. Does anybody know where Slim lives? I thought it was in the Carolinas. If so, that’s a long way from Newark. This arc has more holes than a colander.

Slim’s statement in Panel 3 is proof that he has clay for brains!

Panel 3? But… there are only two panels!

Ah, that explains it The “joke” but be in that third panel, available only to Premium Subscribers.

The secret is out! I’m a premium subscriber and the punch line in the third panel is very funny!

The airline is obligated to deliver passengers to their destination—but not necessarily on the plane they took off in, or even by plane at all. My mother once had a connecting flight cancelled, and the airline put all the passengers on a bus from Philadelphia to Baltimore-Washington International.

I can remember having to take a bus from North Bend, OR to Medford, OR to pick up a flight to CA because the coastal fog was too thick for planes to takeoff or land. That was a loooooonnng time ago.

Agreed, but the cartoon suggests that the airline is dropping its passengers off in Newark, “too far for us to pick him up”. This airline should be expected to bus or fly its passengers to whichever airport Slim drove to.

At least they landed and didn’t crash.

Slims response is the punch line.

As a premium subscriber, do you get access to decades of strips? If so, as many as you choose from GoComics, and how far back?

This is why I think Slim needs a new comic strip. I’m tired of him being portrayed as less intelligent than the vegetables he doesn’t know how to boil. I’m tired of him being the butt of all the jokes in this strip. Especially Clovia’s fat jokes.
