Usually, Gasoline Alley is my favorite strip.
But I feel like an idiot, reading this story arc every day.

It’s like watching the old Joe Franklin show on TV. We would sit around and keep saying it can’t possibly be this bad and then it would get even worse.

Well, at least there are no Skinners in this story.

Actually, I’m kind of enjoying this “commonplace situation.”

I think Rufus is beginning to smarten up.

This strip generates more cranks and whiners! Go write your own bloody strip, crybabies.

Sorry, can take no more.

Sorry Penny R. complaining about this awful story line does not constitute being a crank or a whiner. This arc is way below the usual standards of GA. I’d rather deal with Slim and Clovia than this nonsense of Rufus marrying the mule. Rufus and Joel could easily have been used to better effect. So many great characters in this strip. So many potentially great story lines. Shame on Jim S. for insulting his readership with this asinine tale. Jim can and should do better.

I’ve only been reading G.A. since 1975 when it was introduced to me by a co-worker. I love this strip and happen to like Slim and Clovia — rooted for them to get together way back then.
But I have to agree that this is one of the worst G.A. series ever. In fact, I’ve been disappointed in the strip for the last few years. I want to see more family interaction again — like back in the 70’s.

I would have told the parson to “kiss” my nuptials.
Buh-bye parson..

I’d have told him to Kiss my (biblical term for mule or donkey). R. should say the same to Joel. Even all those women who had him for dinner would be better. He’d still end up with a 50K split and possibly a bit of fun.
