You can substitute “Slim’s” name in Clovia’s thought! Unfortunately Lucky will probably be GA history and Slim will still be tormenting us with his ineptness.

But what if Mr. Dennis and Lucky have a spin-off strip where they have great crazy adventures and save each other all the time from the bad guys in exotic foreign lands? Maybe it could be set along the China Gold Coast and be drawn by the ghost of Milton Caniff and be called “Mr. Dennis and Lucky and The Pirates”?

As I said yesterday, I missed most of last week’s/this week’s story line.
What happened to that devil who was coaxing Lucky along?

Lucky heard Slim and Clovia talking about what a problem he was, and, shamed, he was able to trap the demon cat in a mouse trap— which presumably existed only in Lucky’s mind, and so represented his ability to repress his evil thoughts due to censure from his society.

I didn’t understand this strip when I was 9 years old and I still don’t now that I’m 82.

I hope Clovia is waking up to the fact that maybe it was her and Slim and not Lucky. Look at how happy and sweet he looks with a little love and attention.
