The thing that is unfortunate,..is that when Walt finally does show up in some lame predicament,.. all he’ll get is one or two day strips. He’s the star of the strip! Not these two lame-o’s, gertie and byrdie who have been forced unto us with this bombastic storyline for at least half a year now. Bring back the old guard, that is what made GA so great!

Maybe the strip should go back and find out what Slim is doing. No doubt it’s something crazy

What a great song! I hope he won’t be a one-hit wonder…

Lovely music notes in panel one. Just beautiful work all the way through. Love the overlapping of arm and cello… even the clapping in the speech bubble. Feeling rebellious today, so I’m speaking in phrases only. lol

Can there be anything but a bittersweet ending to this storyline? If Byrd still wants to marry Gertie, she’ll leave Walt. If Byrd has moved on, Gertie wil be devastated.
I guess she could marry Byrd, but stay on with Walt as Byrd tours, but GA seems too traditional for a long-distance marriage.

Well now the concert must be nearly over. I hope Byrd is planning to take Gertie out for an after concert date.

Gertie should know better than to marry a musician. ^_^

Maybe they’ll go park at Lover’s Lane and take Uncle Walt along…as a chaperone.
It would be nice to see an original GA character once in a while.

I think the “stain my suit” comment means that he is going to be holding her closely.

When Slim is in the strip, he gets criticized and ragged upon. Walt has reached the age where he’d rather sit and do little, not exactly exciting stuff for a comic strip. But I’m like Walt. I’d rather just sit back and enjoy whatever storyline Gasoline has to offer.

Hey, you’re right! He *is* being romantic there.
By the way, is imrobert for “I’m Robert” or “Instant Message Robert”?

A Walt story next would be sweet, but there are so many other Wallets to choose from–
Walt Wallet (“Pater Familias”)
Skeezix Wallet (Walt’s son)
Nina Wallet (Skeezix’s wife)
Chipper Wallet (Skeezix’s son)
Amy Wallet (Chipper’s wife)
Gus ‘Li’l Skeezix’ Wallet (Chipper’s son)
Kathleen Wallet (Chipper’s daughter)
Clovia Skinner (Skeezix’s daughter)
Slim Skinner (Clovia’s husband)
Gretchen Skinner (Clovia’s daughter)
Rover Skinner (Clovia’s son)
Hoogy Skinner (Rover’s wife)
Boog Skinner (Rover’s son)
Corky Wallet (Walt’ son)
Hope Wallet (Corky’s wife)
Nubbin Wallet (Corky’s son)
Eve Wallet (Corky’s daughter)
Adam Wallet (Corky’s son)
Teeka Wallet (Adam’s wife)
Ada Wallet (Adam’s daughter)
Amanda Lynn Wallet (Adam’s daughter)
Judy Grubb (Walt’s daughter)
Gideon Grubb (Judy’s husband)
Gabriel Grubb (Judy’s son)

I’m sure the next story is already at the syndicate, but I would like to see what Chipper is up to… he was in the medical field, but even he is nearing retirement age!

I guess this story line’s ulterior motive is that we’ll eventually forget that Gertie has neglected Walt, thus Walt slides out of GA unheralded at the age of 120.

OldManMountain, you forgot a few:
Joel (a junkman)
Rufus (Joel’s dimwit assistant)
Kitty (Rufus’ pet}
Miss Melba (Mayor of GA and Rufus’ sometime sweetheart)
