Slim is the reminder that we are our own worst enemy.

Well said, NotNormanChubsyUbsy. I don’t understand Scancarelli’s “humor” sometimes. His favorite protagonists/heroes/main-characters include the stupid hillbillies and Slim here.

Slim eats the way I want to but daren’t. But the poor guy’s gonna develop high blood pressure and diabetes and drop dead of a heart attack one of these days.
Hey maybe he just needs to fall in love and the weight will come off, like it did to Dom Deluise in “Fatso.”

Hmm, Slim having a fatal heart attack from his gluttony, the resulting funeral bringing together all the family members that we haven’t seen in a long while. Clovia having to adjust to life without Slim and maybe meeting someone new. There is some good story arc potential there.

Gripe, gripe gripe. It’s a comic strip, for crying out loud, you know, lighthearted entertainment, not a freakin’ morality play.

Slim must go through a 4-pack of Cottonelle megarolls every day! What could Clovia possibly see in this bloated tapeworm?
