Obamacare has failed. So far only four people in the state of Pennsylvania has signed up, zero in Oregon. At this same time thousands are no signing up for medicare.

Me thinks, Elmer needs to deliver a “PERIOD”, instead of a “punch line” with that there shotgun….

“Of course there’s no actual equivalency between the law (ACA) and "
So… You are saying that the Obama administration is just making things up as they go along and not paying any attention to the law as written?
    I can buy that.

Let’s revisit this in about March and see where it all stands.

Our connies want to kill it now, lest, God forbid, it succeed, and turn out to be a good thing for the American people.

Dude Obama changed has been playing around lose with the law sense it has passed. RED states even get higher rates. The Obama admin is making things up as they go along and are not paying attention to the law.

Geico does health insurance? And Aflac sells to individuals? I did not know that!
Meanwhile, we need to go back to leadership where promises are kept. Like when the Iraqis greeted our soldiers with flowers. And the cost of the war was paid for by oil revenues.

“Would you please point to the millions that went without seeing a doctor before ACA. Since there are none you may go back to watching The Madcow on MSNBC.”

Oh, there are plenty of them. My husband retired in 2006, before my cancer treatment was complete. I haven’t had any coverage since, because Cobra was as much as our mortgage, and full policies were more.

We couldn’t afford them. I doubt that we could afford the ACA, either, but I know for a fact that we can’t afford Medicare. However, since our government doesn’t shrink at extorting it’s constituents, I now have medical coverage.

Food budget – not so much. Good thing we don’t eat as much as we used to, eh?

“You don’t have to buy Geico, but you are required to have automobile insurance, so that’s the same as “Obamacare.””

    And equally offensive.

This is supposed to be a free market capitalist economy, right?

Government mandated purchases of anything contradict that principle. A free market operates without government interference.

Unfunded mandates are unconstitutional – unless you reject the principles of free market capitalism.

    “Obamacare has failed. "

Really? Gosh, and here I was labouring under the illusion it hadn’t been established.

Something of an accomplishment for the GOP, eh, getting it declared a failure before it was implemented?

“Why aren’t people flocking to Canada for free medical care?Or the UK?”

Would work for you, would it? Go to one of those countries to cuckoo their health care?

Forgive me, but that seems somewhat unethical to me. I’m sure you are correct that it’s not happening, though. People who need the coverage wouldn’t be able to afford to travel off shore for health care. Those who can afford health care sometimes do go off shore for it, but they can afford to do what they like.

I hope that none of those countries would just treat tourists for free, just because they want it. They must have some kind of budget controls, and that would be the first one I would institute – free care for constituents, not for tourists.

Maybe you should be asking why people from other countries don’t afford themselves of our superiour health care.
