Nice try, since the colleges are run by liberals and not conservatives, why are the rates so high and why are illegals paying less than half that of whay Americans paying?

Most advanced countries see the advantage to the country as whole that comes from a well educated work force. The result is that a student whose education from K through PHD is covered will pay it back to the larger society many times over. Only in America does the system exist where students graduate from College tens of thousands of dollars in debt, if they can go at all, which sharply limits the options that they have later in life.

People borrow money to pay for their children’s education just like they would to buy a car or a house. Just like business’s do to buy inventory or equipment or make capital improvements.
Apparently, Republicans now think that borrowing money to pay for a college education means that it should be free instead.

Illegal alien “Dream Act” students pay in-state tuition rates, whereas American citizens are forced to pay out-of-state tuition rates at publicly funded universities. Another form of income redistribution.

The university where I teach is run by a board of governors who are mostly corporate CEOs. They choose a few conservative academics-who-no-longer-teach-or-do-research to become administrators, and of course they choose people who will do their bidding.

“You haven’t been to a college in a long time, have you?”

That’s almost humorous. Read his bio. The man is a professor in a university.

“Fewer foreign students are coming here lately.”

I realize it is usually pointless to try to present factual information to refute your most authoritative sounding, but very opinionated posts, but here goes. International student enrollment is increasing. Secondly, we are not in a depression, technically we are not even in a recession, although it wouldn’t take much (two successive quarters of negative GDP).

I could go on but it’s pointless. You always have all the answers in snappy little one liners. Would it be so difficult to substantiate the insanely partisan assumptions you make with some data/facts?

The responsible parent lets his child finance his own college education. That gives the student “skin in the game”. Free is well worth it. Of course, that doesn’t prevent him from encouraging little Norbert from saving up for his own collegiate experience.

Nope, he’s the real deal. I could tell you where he teaches and what his courses are, but I won’t.

No it is not horrible Mr. Liberal. First lets look at some of those more advance countries.
Europe more advance but look to us to bail them out every few years and for military protection.

    France 10% Islamic already.

Austria had a couple of issues a few years ago some buy got caught keeping his daughter in a dungeon and had kids with her. Another guy kidnapped a child and kept her for like 10 years till she ran away, all in a country the size of small eastern state.
Spain, Italy, Greece, all in economic trouble. Let them have their cultures I will take work. Work builds culture, culture sits around all day drinking coffee in the morning and booze in the evening.

Now how advance can someone be and not see that.

These folks are lucky they were able to pay cash. Most parents will be paying off second mortgages for another 10 or 20 years.
