They’re predicting this flu season may kill as many folks (already with one foot in the grave, and the other on a banana peel) as guns, well, almost as many. If you’re relatively healthy, you will likely survive the flu, eight rounds from a .223 or 9 mm, not so likely.

Now in 47 states, up from 41 states last week. 20 confirmed deaths of children from it. I had mine back in October.

Over a period of 30 years, between 1976 and 2006, estimates of flu-associated deaths in the United States range from a low of about 3,000 to a high of about 49,000 people.

Mass killings are very low, lower then when Clinton was president. The peak was in 1929.

70-90% of gunshot victems recover. My trainer alway said the purpose is to make them lay down and reconsider their negative attitude, not to kill.

If 70-90% survive and there are roughly 9,000 gunshot murders per year, that’s a LOT of people getting shot each year!

I always find it interesting that in the movies or TV, the “bad guy” takes a single hit,and is always dead. The “good guy” can get hit repeatedly and survive… A hit to the center of mass does give a chance for survival. Gabby Giffords was extremely lucky. One inch above the bridge of the nose, they don’t walk away. Yes surviving gunshots is possible but not with a .50 caliber Barrett. BTW, a simple .22 behind the ear was a most popular “hit man’s” round, quiet, and quite effective.
