They are getting 30% from whoever wins. Why would they bother buying a ticket?

540 million would run our government for what 80 minutes. Kind of like thinking taking away all profit and rich peoples money will solve the problem. That action would run the government for like what 10 days? Obama is either very bad at math or knows the General dumb masses eat up his “fairness” and millionaire billionaire class warfare stick.

Although I do agree that the real purpose for a tax increase on the “rich” is just politically using class warfare as a punching bag for blame, I am concerned about the political lineup of both parties to kick the proverbial can down the road in terms of substantive fiscal change. Assume they pass a tax increase. Then what? The democrats are saying that will provide a framework for dealing with real fiscal issues LATER. When a politician says later, they mean never. We need to beat on these cretins until they sit down face to face and work out the long term issues we have to face. Nobody has a realistic plan for change, only a list of things they won’t or can’t change because realistically it is bad for them politically.

No one seems to get between the Cons (both parties) and their spending on what the oligarchs want.

Why do you say “rich” in quotes? They are. Just there there are levels of wealth. And the moves and shakers in our country are in the highest levels of the 1% some where in the 0.006% or less.

@Night-Gaunt: Just for sake of argument, are you saying that if you are a mover/shaker, you are by definition rich? And that no one can be a mover/shaker without being rich? Tell that to the Teacher of the Year, for example, or any number of people being given keys to the city or the Congressional Medal of Honor. Wealth does not automatically confer capability and usefulness, nor is the opposite true.

Yes the super rich are buying and selling political agents that make laws in their favor and laws that are against us. Teachers are not.

If you guys win you buy…80 minutes.
The net worth of the richest man in the world will buy you all of 7 days.
If you can find fourteen more just like him with the same net worth you could nearly erase the deficit.
If you can find 233 more like him you’d pay off the debt…..
