Maybe God makes politicians say colossally stupid things so that they can’t get elected.

And now he’s saying his remarks are being used inappropriately against him. What he is widely quoted on stating was not taken out of context he said and supports what he believes. If Indiana sends him to DC we all lose.

Besides from invoking God (and short of claiming Gods voice to be in his head) Mr. Mourdock just stated the GOP platform. Any vote for any of these bozos will transform the U.S. into the Christian Caliphate of America, sooner or later. Vote straight-line Democratic Party in the election!

His position has a certain logic. If you really do believe that “human life begins at conception”, then how can you justify abortion except when there is another life in danger — that is, the mother’s life. How do those who really do believe that “human life begins at conception” justify abortion after rape? I don’t agree with the premise — I don’t believe that “human life begins at conception” — but I’d like to hear from those who do. How do you make this exception? Is it just convenient because you know you’re out of line with mainstream thought, or do you have a real argument?

If that were true, how does one explain Michelle Bachmann?

That merely indicates the intelligence of those who voted for her.

Is it legitimate rape if you are a guy and tied up? The body can protect itself, so no!

    I agree with your position.
Within the logic of the “God world” God is responsible for everything. Someone dies “It’s God’s will” Someone flies a jet plane into your building “God is mad that there are Gays in NYC” and, conveniently, and this is why I said “God World” instead of “Christianity” there is a “It is God’s wish that you kill yourself flying this jet into that building!”
The goal is to “Let go and let God”. You are given"Free Will" and you choose to “Follow God” or “the other”. The list of God centric excuses and platitudes is as infinite as God’s own wisdom.
If a woman in a marriage is trying to get pregnant, and she doesn’t, that’s “God’s will” All the pieces were there in the room and God said “No!” If God doesn’t say “No.” and the egg fertilizes but then there is a miscarriage, well, God doesn’t make mistakes! god is perfection, so that just means that God is trying to communicate to Eve and her husband (let’s call him Atom) about something in His own “Mysterious ways”.
It all follows, therefore that if the rapist acted on his own free will and he put the players in the room it’s still up to God whether there is a “No!” or a “Yes!” so if it’s a “Yes” that means the baby is God’s will.
We all know that this result is “wrong” and therefore there is something in the logic that leads to it that is flawed.
And THAT is where Mitt ought to be running into FLAK from the right! It is God’s will that Murdock said what he said. Why would God do that other than to give Mitt the free will to either publically declare that he stands with God and follows God?
Mitt is denying God! Right when he needs Him MOST! Right when He needs Mitt!
The whole “Except in case of rape, incest or health of the mother” (which reminds me that Murdock didn’t even MENTION incest, but which follows the same logic) is a sham anyway. It can only be rape when someone is convicted of rape, by which time the child will be in the 10th trimester!

If my invisible friend is real, then once we die, we’ll find out what comments like this, and actions like the ones we take in God’s name, really mean to an infinite and omniscient being. If I’m wrong, we get a nice long dirt nap and won’t care at all.
If that ends up being the case, all of this evil done in the name of a loving compassionate God/Allah will have been for nothing.
So, we’re looking at eternal damnation because somebody’s religion is right,
Eternal salvation because we did what our invisible friend wanted us to do and are blessed,
dirt nap… no wakey wakey, no eggs and bakey.
    Just sayin,
and really trying to be respectful…

What does ‘god’ have to do with the opinions of politicians?
The devil made him do it.

You’ll get no argument from me. I have no proof of anything, just faith. That faith tells me its nice to be nice. If science says a hurricane is coming, i’m going to get ready for a hurricane, but I will have faith that my prayers for my neighbors and my family will be heard and accept the outcomes as they occur.
Wish that damn tree in my back yard wasn’t so tall. It’s also right over the power lines so no one will cut it back for me for less than 15k.
thanks for the excellent reply, 1opinion, even if it does have math in it. /sucks at math.

So you are against the death penalty? Ah, that’s not the same? Why? I say anybody putting his car in my parking spot should be shot. You disagree? See, and I disagree that there are moral absolutes, that life is always sacred. Been to any war lately? You’d be AMAZED

    @C Downs
I recommend you call your local power company. They have a stake in making sure your tree doesn’t damage power lines. There’s a good chance they will take care of it for free.

It’s notable that 1. Mitt still supports this nut, but WORSE and 2. There are so MANY of these nuts in the Congress and calling themselves “TEA party”, or “conservatives”, or the biggest lie they try; “sane”!

Women, and the men who love them, should all band together and vote ALL THESE NUTS OUT!!
