Typical, don’t know much about what you talk about. You can pray just not on school time and to take time out to do it. You have many places to pray and if you actually believe in the at Bible of yours you would do so out of sight, in the closet as Jesus commands.

It’s not “U” as in “university” it’s a horseshoe as in Colts. So who the heck gets to have their head blow up if the mascot of a pro team prays wherever the heck he wants?
    .
Maybe they nickname it Blue U but, the Colts are a Pro Footbal team.
    .
But, and while I offer hope for a favorable outcome for Coach Pagano, I was thinking that maybe the joke was that the University was praying that this didn’t follow the Joe Paterno script.

I know what you’re saying, but it’s wrong in this case.
    .
The Colt is praying in “private” there’s no one around the bench is empty perhaps after a practice.
    .
I don’t disagree with your point overall, but I do think it’s a misfire in this case.

Why on earth would our heads explode at this? There are a lot of liberal Christians (and people of other faiths), and we pray daily. You can’t require others to pray, and the state can’t sponsor / prefer a religion, but prayer is the free act of the faithful, and nobody stops us from doing it.

that’s right cd – i guess i’m always surprised when people seem so desperate to erase God and Christ from America and the world – so much energy for naught – the cartoon is about a coach with cancer for pete’s sake – about caring about a coach with cancer – good grief -

Don’t follow football, at all, but best of luck to the coach in his battle against cancer, it’s nasty.

BTW, I’ve never objected to PRIVATE prayer, after all, they occur in every school just prior to critical tests, but it is FORCING others to participate that is a Constitutional problem in the United States.

dtroutma, when are people FORCED to pray??? The atheists are going around and banning people from praying because they say it makes them uncomfortable. Well a lot of stuff liberals do and say makes me uncomfortable, but we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc., and as much as I loathe the left and the perversion, hypocrisy and dishonesty they push, I don’t feel it’s my right to ban them from their freedoms because it’s not something I believe in, so why is it o.k. for a single atheist to ban an entire group from saying a prayer, when that atheist is in no way forced to join in praying.

The left are the MASTERS of intolerance!

Some of us just want the church to stay out of the state. As our Founders understood and made sure no Christian or Judaism were in our founding documents.

They can pray anywhere as long as time isn’t officially taken out of school for them to do so. As if they can’t prey before and after school, on the bus, no their lunch break. But they like to make a show of it. Not what their Bible tells them to do.

That “blue horsey thing” is the Indianapolis Colt’s mascot, hon. Varvel is using it to symbolize the team spirit praying that their coach will survive whatever Cancer he has contracted.
    .
    Otherwise, you’re absolutely right.

    Canuck: One other thing….
Cancer is serious, no matter what form it comes in. I know this as both parents have it… although right now, Dad has been in Remission for at least eight years (? I’ll have to ask him) now, while my Mother has that rare pancreatic Cancer that killed Steve Jobs. (The only reason she’s still alive now is because she went to her doctor right away.) I try to visit them at least once weekly just to see how Dad is holding up from some of the effects from the chemotherapy.
    .
So, folks – if your parents are still alive, contact them before the Debate begins & tell ’em how much you appreciate them. All it takes is three words…..

God will have to take time off from helping Tim Tebow complete his next pass to help Pagano.
