As a MAC user, who’s never gotten a virus, I have to laugh, because it IS all the windows folks who went with the “corporate” decision makers, not the more “liberal” user friendly system.

I think all the delays and excuses and cost overruns etc of the H1N1 vaccine give us all a nice preview of what heath care wil be like once the Demoncrats control it…

As a Windows user who’s never had a virus, I have one thing to say to all those who have: Stop looking at so much porn.

Also, I hate the commercial that this is based on. So smarmy.

Too late. The GOP has already messed with it up by adding legislative scumware they said would make it work better.

Sure there are problems, but there would be more without those programs. Medicare for everyone who wants it.

Macs cost 2x the price of a PC with equivalent hardware on average today. If you are not a Windows Power User, try Ubuntu, which released its latest version last week. Macs are fine computers if you can afford them. The constant back and forth between Mac and PC stems from the different manufacturing paradigms that Apple and the PC industry employ. Apple’s strength is that they manufacture (almost) every part and peripheral on Macs. This means a leaner OS (they don’t have to optimize thousands of different drivers) and guaranteed stability. The down side is that they don’t get the benefits of economies of scale, making their gear quite expensive, and only average in terms of power. PC’s have parts manufactured by thousands of different companies. Windows has to have drivers to support an ocean of hardware components, making it larger and clunkier than OSX. However, competition and economies of scale drive the costs of these components down. This means that you can build a PC that’s as fast or faster than a Mac, for 1/2 the price. It also means your machine is upgradable, which is not the case with Mac. Both systems have advantages which are also disadvantages. As a power user, I’ve built my own PC, which is far more powerful than anything in Apple’s lineup, for USD$ 1,200 (Roughly the price of Apple’s lowest entry). I run Windows 7 and have no need for an antivirus. For my grandmother who really couldn’t be bothered to learn to use Windows safely, I got her a Mac, as she doesn’t have a need for a very powerful system and has the money to spend.

I am so sick and tired of the sound-bite hysteria induction of cartoons like this. One can just as easily create a very comparably themed one vilifying private industry’s handling of health care.

There are two key factors that need to be acknowledged:
1 - Government is not known for being very competent with efficiency or cost-effectiveness.
2 - Private industry is not known for being very capable with placing priorities above the profit margin or with self-regulation.

The ideal solution is to have a healthy combination resulting from the interaction of the dynamic energy of private industry mitigated by the regulating oversight of government.

We can scream about ‘your way is wrong my way is right’ till we’re blue in the face and continue to throw trite aphorisms at one another, or we can work to ensure that America’s health care and health insurance system is the best system it can possibly be by working together, considering all the possibilities, and being willing to make concessions as needed.

Here’s to allowing level heads to prevail.

@ curiosity I think you are referring to the pre-nixon era where health care was not for profit and corporations were regulated to prevent depressions from occurring. We need to go back to what once worked and stop with this “free market” and “free trade” non-sense because it only benefits the people who own for a living and not the hard working American.

@ Mac users SCREW YOU! Your interface blows and unless i want to make a video and post it on youtube you really can’t work on a mac. I once tried sending a resume to someone on my friend’s mac and they told me that all they got was alien language cause Mac office was not compatible to PC office.

Also i don’t like the idea of having to give my credit card information just to rate a song on itunes.

AND QUICK TIME SUCKS BIG ONES! That stupid program took over all my preset players cause APPLE is the anti-christ.

Linux is the platform of the future, PC hardware without the WinDoze software circus of faulty code.

Bill Gates can eat my shorts.

This Toon has the situation backwards.

Corporate Healthcare is the equivalent of Windoze, they’ll take advantage of the buyer’s misplaced trust EVERY TIME.
