I think THAT goose is already at the Cheney’s. Just didn’t realize Lockheed et. al. represented small business.

Sure D you would not understand that the small business supply something like 80 90% of the jobs. That is where the money is so that is what will be taxed.
Better way..Fair Tax!

I said this all along: you can’t give something to someone, that you don’t take away from someone else. If the Someone else is not able to give you enough, then, we just all go broke. You can say healthcare for everyone all you want, but if the money to give isn’t there, it isn’t there. I love my sister, but I can’t pay her medical bills. She should’ve kept that job with the phone company all those years ago, then she’ve had some health care. ? See what I mean? That is an up close and personal example.

Nonsense.
The money is in GoldmanSachs bonuses.

Someone asked me on another site how Libertarians would handle unemployment and health care. Certainly not the way Obama/Pelosi are planning. If unemployment in Nov 2010 is 10% remember I warned you.

Right on the money Gary Varvel
Hey cabrobst - the GS bonuses don’t equate to $600 trillion.

Small business already pays for health care. So do workers. Maybe plugging loopholes for Big Business would shift the burden a little – my local bodega isn’t headquartered in some overseas tax haven, and they don’t employ an army of accountants to scramble their books and hide their profits.

Excellent toon…and spot-on!
What our government calls “taxing the rich” also increases taxes on small business, which composes greater than 3/4 of our jobs in this country. The reason it does is because the tax code requires that you count your business income along with your personal income.
That being said, while a small business owner may personally pay him/herself say $30,000 a year, if that person owns a successful business and has half-a-dozen or so employees then they are quickly catapaulted above the $250,000 mark. So, the small-business owner who paid himself $30,000 last year (again, example) is personally liable for the taxes attached to over $250,000.
Until the tax codes allow personal and business income to be counted seperately and taxed seperately, the “taxes on the rich” will continue to bite and claw at small businesses.

Sadly, Bush 43 wanted this at the end of his Term. He along with McCain talekd about how we needed ‘Affordable’ and ‘Portable’ Health Care for All USA Legal Citizens. Strange, the Conservatives dared not criticize the Plans the Republicans had for Government Run Health Care. My question is why?

And spot on ANandy.

TIGGER: The plan being rushed through looks nothing like what Reps were thinking about, and Repubs are being shut out of any crafting of this bill.
RE: The toon: I think it has something to do with CIT, which the fed has denied TARP funds. CIT makes loans to small businesses, especially this time of year, so that they can buy inventory for the upcoming X-Mas holiday, paying it back early next year. Sort of like when a farmer borrows $ so he can plant crops, paying it back after harvest. No loan, no crop, no harvest. Obama’s plan for small business.
