A good way to support our troops would be to make war as rare as possible. Fight only when absolutely necessary.

Careful, on a McCoy thread when I said we shouldn’t needlessly sacrifice our troops I was called a “leftist”, and told that I couldn’t comprehend the concept of a volunteer military.
I guess the latter idiot thinks “volunteer” and “suicidal” mean the same thing.

ANandy: “Compulsory service” is not the same thing as “compulsory MILITARY service”. Not that you’d know the difference.

Once upon a time in this country they had compulsory military service for all but those who could afford to buy their way out, or send someone else in their stead.
