If he is going the wrong way then how did he get things passed? The House was the only place where legislation was passed during the Shut down. The house is also the only place where the Representatives are to be elected democratically by the people. They were sent there to do what the people want them to do. And that is what they did. It was Harry Reid in the Senate who was taking his walking orders from his Party and the President. He was not doing his job of watching out for the welfare of those in his State! He was not doing his job!
Seems to me that the house is going the way of the people who elected them. It is the Senate and Obama who are going on the mob rule pole driven, as the wind blows direction. Mr Obama, lead from behind. Give them what they want. Free stuff from the evil rich buys a lot of votes! Don’t believe me? The employer mandate delay was for those being re elected in 2014. And after this health care roll out FAILURE I bet not one up for re election will brag about how they voted for it.

And as usual, the Democrats are completely out of the picture…

According to all of the polls, the people are with the Democrats on background checks for gun purchases, immigration reform, strengthening social security, a balanced plan of both spending cuts AND increasing taxes and closing loopholes to lower deficits, not shutting down the government to demand the repeal of the ACA, allowing health insurance to cover contraception, keeping first-term abortion legal, safe, and rare, increasing education and Head Start for the very young, increasing employment with infrastructure projects, and opposing attempts to purge poor and elderly people from the voter rolls. This probably explains why the Democrats have won the last three elections.

Which also explains why the country is in such a sad state!

Well said. But reality has never been a strong republican strength. As ahab mentions the Koch $$$ has a way of rigging the results of the people.. strange that.

Has there even, in the annuals of man, been a conservative who has changed his mind ?
    YES
    me
Thank you, parents, for an iota of intelligence.
But why should I be the only one ??

At one time, I registered as a republican. NEVER AGAIN. I’m not into voting against my best interests, or the best interest of the MAJORITY of Americans. So, not alone on changing one’s mind, for the better.

“The John Birch right wingers hated JFK as implacably as their children hate Obama.” I don’t see hate conceiving or voting for or implementing good governance. Which is to say that people who don’t believe in Constitutional governance shouldn’t be elected to govern.

wmconnelly: a large number of the TEA party folks ARE Birchers. Our local paper is constantly publishing “tea party” letters with the JBS web site as their only “authority”.

Until we all realize that both parties are laser focused on their agendas and not us, we are freaking doomed.

By TROUT’s own admission, he lives in a one-horse town with one traffic light and is so remote FedEx won’t deliver there. You have to wonder what kind of “local paper” he’s referring to.

^FedEx just uses the Postal Service to deliver a lot of packages, and pockets the difference, but yes, they do deliver here. My “local” paper is small, but I also check out the Portland Oregonian, and L.A. times “letters” pages as well. Listening to Rush’s listeners also confirms a firm JBS affiliation within the TEA party folks.

As you appear to be in Florida from you posts, you know well the “leanings” down there as well. P.S. we don’t have ANY traffic lights!!

    @dtroutma

First of all, it was YOU who said “local paper”, not the Portland Oregonian or LA Times. Not me.

Second, I’m in Broward County. Pure Democrat. I’m from NYC (Pure Democrat). And I lived many years in NJ (Pure Democrat). What was your point again?
